BoConcept Malta

BoConcept Malta is the island's branch of a Danish furniture brand that has made modern design pieces since 1952. The store is on Triq tal-Balal in San Ġwann, and it is the single BoConcept location in Malta, so it is the place to see the collections and talk to the team in person.

On VisitMalta.co.uk the store is listed in our directories of furniture shops in Malta and interior designers in Malta. It appeals to UK buyers who know the brand from home and want the same style for a Maltese apartment or villa.

A Danish brand with a long history

BoConcept began in 1952 when Jens Ærthøj and Tage Mølholm opened a furniture factory in the small Danish town of Herning. Their first popular product was an extendable teak dining table, and the company grew from a factory into a retail chain. Today it has more than 300 stores in 65 countries, and its production, quality and logistics teams are still based in Ølgod in Denmark.

The brand has worked with well-known designers including Claudio Bellini, Henrik Pedersen, Karim Rashid and Anders Nørgaard, and its Global Artistic Director is Helena Christensen. It has been named Best Luxury Furniture and Homeware brand at the Luxury Lifestyle Awards for three years in a row.

Customisable furniture for every room

The range covers sofas, armchairs, dining and coffee tables, chairs, storage, beds, outdoor furniture, lamps, rugs and accessories. Much of it is designed to be personalised: you can choose the size, colours and materials of almost every piece, from fabric and leather to wood.

The store can arrange free fabric samples so you can judge colours and textures at home. If you are furnishing a property after reading our Malta relocation guide, the mix of living room, dining and bedroom collections lets you carry one design language through the whole interior.

Craftsmanship and values

Materials are chosen from around the world, from leather and wood to steel, and skilled craftsmen combine traditional techniques with modern technology. Each piece goes through quality control checks for durability, function and appearance before it ships.

Suppliers must follow a code of conduct covering working conditions, health and safety and environmental protection, and BoConcept has joined the UN Global Compact. The brand's design values are simplicity, functionality, craftsmanship and good materials, summed up in its motto Live Ekstraordinær.

Prices, delivery and professional projects

Recommended retail prices in euros include VAT, delivery and installation, which makes it easier to compare a quote against other shops. The team also cares about the whole experience, with delivery and assembly handled so that you can use your new furniture straight away.

BoConcept also supplies design furniture to professionals such as architects and interior designers, with customisable solutions and a one-stop shopping experience. That may suit anyone setting up an office or a rental property, and our Malta tax guide for UK nationals is useful background if you are buying property here.

Visiting the San Ġwann store

The store is on Triq tal-Balal in San Ġwann. If you are planning a trip, our guides to where to stay in Malta and hotels in Sliema help you choose a base, and you can read the Valletta guide and our list of things to do in Malta for the rest of your stay. Check flights to Malta from the UK before you book. Because this is the only store on the island, it is worth sending your questions ahead of time, such as which collection you like or what size of room you are furnishing, so the team can prepare when you arrive.

To ask about availability, prices or a visit, use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to BoConcept Malta.
