Charles Micallef Swimming Pools

Charles Micallef Swimming Pools Ltd. is a specialist pool installer and supplier based in Iklin, a village in the centre of Malta close to Naxxar and Mosta. The business has more than 45 years of experience and takes a holistic approach: it does not stop once the pool is built, but also supplies the products and advice needed to keep it clean, safe and efficient.

For UK buyers of Maltese property, a private pool is a popular extra, and the warm climate makes it useful for much of the year. The business appears in our directories of swimming pools in Malta and pool services in Malta.

Pool installation

The installation team can build any size of pool in any kind of premises, from private homes to commercial sites. Advice covers both portable pools and permanent in-ground pools, in any shape and size, so the options range from a small plunge pool in a limestone courtyard to a longer indoor pool or an infinity-edge pool facing the coast. Photos on its website show indoor lap pools set against exposed stone, raised rooftop pools and mosaic-tiled pools with water features.

The business uses modern filtration systems and chlorine-free water sanitation equipment, designed to save both water and energy. Because the same business supplies and services the equipment, you deal with one team from first design to day-to-day care. No prices are published, so ask for a quotation based on the size, setting and finish you have in mind.

Pool products and maintenance supplies

A wide range of equipment is stocked for both domestic and commercial pools: pumps, hot tubs, infrared saunas and steam room equipment, LED and halogen pool lighting, ladders and handrails, showers, jets, heaters, life rings, pool covers and rollers, and slides. These help you secure, light and embellish a pool and the area around it.

For upkeep, the business supplies cleaning tools, cleaning chemicals, pumps, filters and LED lights, along with advice on caring for your pool and keeping it secure. Cleaning products for spas are stocked as well, which suits owners with a hot tub or sauna as well as a pool.

The range is sold for both commercial and domestic pools, so a villa owner and a hotel manager can find what they need in the same place. Staff also give advice on the right products to look after the water and the equipment, which helps first-time pool owners who are unsure where to start.

Wellness installations

The wellness side of the business covers a choice of spas, saunas and steam rooms, installed at home or in a place of business, together with the items needed for their regular maintenance. If you are developing a guest house or villa and want a private spa area, this is part of the same service.

Browse our where to stay in Malta guide for the areas visitors favour, or read the Malta relocation guide if you are moving here and planning a property with a pool.

Because the same business supplies the equipment that goes into these rooms, you can specify the pool, the sauna and the maintenance products together rather than dealing with several suppliers. It is worth explaining the size of the space, the way you intend to use it and whether it is for private or commercial use when you enquire, so that the team can advise on what suits.

Visiting Iklin

The business is on Triq in-Naxxar in Iklin, open from 08:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and from 09:00 to 12:00 on Saturday. The village is a short drive from the walled city described in our Mdina guide and the capital, which our Valletta city guide covers. Anyone who prefers the sea to a private pool can compare the best beaches in Malta, and the Malta weather guide shows how long the swimming season lasts. Our things to do in Malta page and about Malta give more context.

To ask about an installation, supplies or a wellness project, use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to Charles Micallef Swimming Pools.
