Eden Cinemas is the multiplex at St George's Bay in St Julian's, on the north-east coast just along from Sliema and Paceville. It shows new releases, with laser projection and 3D screenings, and also hosts cinema events such as live-streamed ballet, opera and concert screenings, big screen gaming and other special programmes.

If you are staying in Sliema or St Julian's, it is an easy evening plan on a hot night or when the weather turns. Our cinemas in Malta directory lists other places to watch a film, and our things to do in Malta guide covers the daytime sights, including the capital in our Valletta guide.

Films, schedule and tickets

The film schedule is set every Monday at 12pm for a cinema week that runs from Wednesday to Tuesday. If a film is not on the schedule, it has either yet to be released or will not show at the cinema. Ticket types include kids tickets for children up to 11, youth tickets for ages 12 to 17 and senior tickets for over 60s. A ticket marked W/GL means with glasses, which is the one to choose if you want 3D glasses included.

Films carry a classification, and the cinema reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone under the age limit or to ask for proof of age, with no refund. Prices are shown on the cinema info page rather than here, so check before you book. You can skip the queue by buying online.

Family deals, combos and gift cards

The Family Ticket includes four cinema tickets: one adult and three children up to 11, or two adults and two children up to 11. The Family Combo adds two large popcorns, two XL drinks and two large drinks to the four tickets. There are also offers for youth, a car park offer and special offers listed on the site.

Gift cards come in €5, €10 and €20 values, valid for 12 months, and can be used at Eden Cinemas and at the Cynergi Health and Fitness Club. They are single-use and not refundable, and can be bought at the kiosk or online. The loyalty card lets you earn points and redeem them for free tickets and snacks.

Exchanges, groups and parties

Tickets can be exchanged only before they expire, at the box office or the kiosk, and only for films scheduled in that cinema week. No cash refunds are given, but a credit note valid for two months can be issued, and a €5 admin charge applies to changes and credit notes.

For group tickets, you give the number of people, their ages and the date, and the cinema returns a quote. Party packages, private rentals and corporate events can be arranged too, and the cinema also sells advertising. Visitors planning the stay can see hotels in Sliema and St Julian's for places to stay nearby, or compare areas in our where to stay in Malta guide. Arriving by air? Visiting from the UK

A British visitor will find the experience familiar: comfortable rows of seats, popcorn and drinks combos, and a classification on every film. Check each film's page on the cinema site for its rating and details before you book, and bring photo identification if you are bringing teenagers to a film with an age limit. The classification guide runs from films open to all ages up to those suitable only for people aged 18 and over.

Summer evenings suit a cooler cinema, and winter brings rain, so the Malta weather guide helps you decide whether an indoor evening or a day at the beach fits your dates. The cinema is also a fallback option for groups with children when the sea is rough, and our best beaches in Malta and Blue Lagoon guide cover the days you can swim. Use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to Eden Cinemas.
