Forestals is a Maltese group of companies founded in 1940, with a retail showroom at the Mriehel bypass and its head office in the Central Business District at Birkirkara. It sells domestic appliances, TVs, computers, gaming and consumer electronics, and also supplies business IT, commercial flooring and document storage. Enquiries go through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page.
Whether you are furnishing a rented flat, replacing a broken laptop or looking for a PlayStation, Forestals is one of the best known names in Maltese retail. The group was constituted in 1940 and has grown through three generations into a household name with interests that run from kitchen appliances to business IT and document storage.
You will find it in our directory with the other electronics shops in Malta, alongside names such as the A-Store electronics retailer. The retail showroom is on the Mriehel bypass, close to the middle of the island, and the group's head office sits in the Central Business District.
Appliances and consumer electronics
Retail and consumer sales are Forestals' traditional core. The domestic appliances range includes Miele, iRobot Roomba, LG, Smeg, Hotpoint and KitchenAid, and the products are on show at the Mriehel showroom and through a network of kitchen manufacturers who resell its white goods. The online shop also lists fans, heating and air treatment, including air purifiers and wall mounted air conditioners, which matter on a hot island, and our Malta weather guide shows when you will need them.
In consumer electronics, Forestals has official representation in Malta for Sony, HP, TCL, Sonos and other brands. It is the official partner of Sony PlayStation and a dealer for Potensic drones. The consumer IT range covers laptops, tablets, smartphones, watches and accessories, so anyone moving here from the UK can pick up what they need, from a new phone to a printer, a smartwatch or the cables and chargers that go with them. Our Malta relocation guide and digital nomad guide cover the wider settling in process.
Business IT and commercial projects
For companies, Forestals is a Gold HP specialist partner that sells, commissions and services HP products. It supplies IT hardware and support for small and medium firms, large enterprises and government bodies, from servers and storage to desktops, notebooks, printers, workstations and retail point of sale systems. It has also won contracts in the education sector, including interactive panels from Promethean.
Alongside the shop floor, the commercial side installs flooring and carpeting, sports floors and hardwood parquet, and supplies industrial cleaning equipment and professional laundry machinery to the hospitality and superyacht sectors. The group lists major installations at most of Malta's five star and boutique hotels, and you can browse the island's accommodation on our hotels in Malta page.
Service, repairs and document storage
Forestals runs its own service and aftersales centre. Customers can book a technician appointment or order spare parts for appliances and electronics through forms on the website, and the contact page promises an answer within 24 hours to written questions. The service centre keeps weekday and Saturday morning hours, shown in the practical details above.
Since July 2012 the group has also owned Rentastore, a records management business. It offers secure document storage in Malta's only commercial Argonite fire suppressed facility, with more than 25 security features including X-ray scanners, plus industrial shredding with a certificate of destruction, and records tracking software. Clients include legal, banking, finance and government bodies, so it will interest firms in Malta's financial services sector.
Visiting and enquiring
The group's new head office complex was completed in July 2019 and covers more than 3,000 square metres, with technical service facilities and a document archive. The showroom is open six days a week, and parking at street level makes it easy to collect larger items. If you are planning a trip, see our things to do in Malta guide, the about Malta page and the flights to Malta page. To ask about a product, repair or business service, use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to the business.
