KHAMULA Interior Design is a Malta studio led by Jully Khamula, specialising in luxury residential interiors and high-performance commercial spaces. It designs villas, penthouses, high-rise apartments, offices, restaurants and beauty salons, with an approach it calls organic warm minimalism: natural materials, refined finishes and careful planning of how a space is used.

For UK buyers of a Maltese apartment or villa, and for companies setting up an office on the island, the studio offers a single point of contact from concept to completion. The studio has completed 84 projects covering around 18,000 square metres of designed space.

The studio and its founder

Jully Khamula began her art training at the age of five and later studied architecture in Minsk, qualifying at college and then at the Belarus National Technical University. While still studying she worked in the interior design department of one of the largest construction companies in Minsk, collaborating with UK designers on residential complexes, hotels and shopping centres.

She moved to Malta, worked alongside local architects to learn local construction practice and build a network, and in 2019 began her own studio. In 2024 the practice was rebranded as KHAMULA Interior Design, with a new name and logo. It now brings more than 15 years of international architectural and interior design experience to projects in Malta and elsewhere in Europe.

Residential interiors

Residential work includes turnkey villa design, penthouse transformations, high-end apartment renovations and spatial planning, with bespoke millwork made around the client's lifestyle. The studio manages every stage, from the initial concept through to final execution, and specifies quality materials and current trends.

Several of its apartments are in Mercury Tower in St Julian's. Blanche, on the 26th floor, is a 63.3 square metre home in modern French style, with light oak joinery, a hidden door to the guest bathroom and a matte black timber arch behind the media wall. Verde 19, on the 19th floor, blends Scandinavian minimalism with olive green accents, natural wood and a seamless, durable kitchen. OneOneO Scandi is a three bedroom Sliema apartment with views of Valletta, an oak kitchen and arches that define the entrances, and Nordic Clay in Pembroke pairs warm oak millwork with travertine accents. If you are planning a purchase, our guide to relocating to Malta and our where to stay in Malta page help you choose an area first.

Offices, restaurants and salons

On the commercial side the studio designs corporate headquarters, boutique hospitality, retail and workspaces with good acoustics. At Raketech's St Julian's office, a blank concrete shell became a Scandinavian style workplace with standing desks, open plan and private zones, meeting rooms, acoustic panels, three soundproof phone booths, a kitchen and a lounge. Raketech is an affiliate marketing company, a sector covered in our iGaming in Malta guide.

Other commercial projects include the Amora restaurant in St Julian's, where a former fast food unit with black wallpaper was reworked with light wood, rattan chairs, arched windows and olive trees, a SOHO office and coworking space on The Strand in Gżira, a notary office in Sliema, and beauty salons including Neo Lash and Nail Impress by Toyah in Naxxar. Residential projects also include a restored traditional townhouse in Sliema, a rental apartment named Olive Essence, and homes at Pendergardens and Urban Emerald.
