Laser by Ingrid is a family-run studio in Għaxaq, a village in the south of Malta, that began in January 2022 with a single service, laser hair removal. It has since grown into a wider laser and beauty practice, so clients can have several treatments under one roof. The people behind it are Ingrid, Ivan and Naomi, who are certified aestheticians with additional certification in the anatomy and physiology of hair, skin and nails.

Laser hair removal and pigmentation

Laser hair removal is the founding service, and the studio offers it as a pain-free treatment that targets hair follicles. It can be used on the face, underarms, bikini area and other zones, on all skin types including dark skin, and needs no downtime. First sessions are booked four weeks apart, and the gaps change as results build. Ivan focuses on laser hair removal for men, while Ingrid specialises in advanced laser hair removal.

Laser pigmentation treatment is designed to reduce freckles, sun spots and age spots. The laser targets pigmented areas without harming the skin around them, and the pigment then fades or flakes away to leave a more even tone. The studio asks clients to avoid direct sun, other lasers, waxing and fake tan for two weeks beforehand.

Facials, microneedling and tattoo removal

The laser carbon facial, also known as the Black Doll facial, is a quick refresh for all skin types. A carbon layer picks up dead skin cells and oil, and the laser then helps to even out tone, soften fine lines and improve texture, with no downtime. The studio also offers conventional facials, tailored after a consultation about your skin type and goals.

RF fractional microneedling uses a gold-plated needle device to deliver radio-frequency energy into the skin, aimed at wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks and sagging skin on the face, neck, décolleté and abdomen. Laser tattoo removal uses Pico technology, which breaks tattoo pigment into fragments using short pulses of light.

HIFU and body treatments

8D HIFU, short for high-intensity focused ultrasound, is a non-surgical option that sends heat to deeper skin layers to stimulate collagen and elastin and reduce sagging. CFU-ÈLIFE comes from the same family of technology. For the body, the studio offers Lysiwave body contouring, Cryoliposculpt fat reduction and Influx, which uses vibration and electrical pulses to support lymphatic drainage, skin tone and cellulite reduction. These body options suit people who want to work on shape and skin quality without surgery, and it is sensible to ask how many sessions each one involves, how long each appointment lasts and what to expect afterwards.
