MFCC, the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre, is Malta's largest conference and exhibition venue, based at the National Stadium in Ta' Qali. It hosts trade fairs, concerts, conferences, gala dinners and weddings, and supplies stages, seating, marquees and design support. Event enquiries can be sent through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page and we will pass them to the venue.

The Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre, known as MFCC, is the island's biggest venue for exhibitions and large gatherings. It sits at the National Stadium in Ta' Qali and offers 8,500 square metres of uninterrupted indoor space with a further outdoor area, which means it can swing from a small meeting to a concert for 10,000 people.

If you are a UK organiser planning a conference, trade show, product launch or wedding in Malta, this is one of the few places on the islands with the scale to do it under one roof. The venue is part of the Corinthia Group, so accommodation and catering can be arranged alongside the space itself.

A blank canvas for every kind of event

MFCC is a blank canvas, and the range of events in its gallery proves the point: conferences and graduations, gala dinners, concerts, theatre set-ups, televised productions, wedding set-ups, exhibition stands and panels. The hall can be used as one large space or divided into separate halls and seminar theatres, and many entry points around the edge make loading in easy for exhibitors.

Hoisting machinery can be rented if it is booked in advance, which helps when heavy or bulky items need to go on the floor. Catering and bar facilities can be built into an exhibition layout, so visitors can move around the show comfortably. For readers weighing up venues for a larger gathering, our directory of entertainment venues shows the alternatives.

Fairs, shows and events run by MFCC

The centre does not simply hire out space; it organises its own events. The Malta Trade Fair, running for over 60 years, is the country's largest commercial fair and typically lasts 11 days between June and July, using both indoor and outdoor areas. The Home and Interiors Show takes place over four days in October, and the biennial Malta Catering Expo brings more than 200 chefs into competition.

AMITEX is the travel show, gathering the main players in the travel industry to promote destinations to a Maltese audience. The venue also hosts the annual SiGMA iGaming show, which is covered in our iGaming in Malta guide, and MFCC organises the Valletta Military Tattoo in St George's Square, where foreign and Maltese military bands play to over 2,000 spectators on September evenings. If that tempts you into the capital, our Valletta guide has plenty to pair it with.

Staging, seating, marquees and design

A trained crew supports the venue's outdoor and staging service. Stages range from raised platforms for short speeches to multi-level stages ready for television, and audiovisual work is delivered with selected partners. Tiered seating can be configured for up to 2,000 seats, and a standard block of 1,950 seats measures 34.1 metres by 17.2 metres.

Carpeting comes in rolls 2 metres wide that can be cut to any size, as well as grey and red tiles measuring 2 metres by 1 metre with a rubberised backing that grips the floor and dampens sound. Gazebos and marquees start at 4 metres by 4 metres and can be joined into very long structures, built with anodised aluminium and fire retardant materials to stand up to strong winds.

A design team provides technical drawings and creative visuals, giving a 360 degree service from concept to delivery. It also advises organisers on best practice, permits, audiovisual partners, printing, health and security, whether the event is at MFCC, a Corinthia hotel or another venue.

Corinthia hotels and where to stay

MFCC has belonged to the Corinthia Group since 2016, giving organisers access to close to 1,200 beds across five properties: the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa, the Corinthia St George's Bay, the Radisson Blu Resort Saint Julians, the Marina Hotel Corinthia Beach Resort and the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Malta Golden Sands. Bespoke catering is available through Corinthia Caterers.

Delegates and guests can compare areas in our where to stay in Malta guide, or look at hotels in Sliema and St Julian's and hotels in Mellieħa. The walled city of Mdina is close to Ta' Qali, and our Mdina guide suggests a good half day out for visitors. For more ideas, see things to do in Malta.
