MI Global

MI Global is a destination management company, in other words a local organiser that designs and runs group trips, incentive programmes, meetings and events on behalf of agencies and companies. It has operated for almost twenty years from Mosta, a town in the middle of Malta, and describes its aim as connected experiences, globally. What MI Global does

The company designs events with creativity and a customised approach, including activities away from the usual tourist trail. Its services are grouped into MICE travel, which stands for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions, and tailored travel for groups with a particular wish list.

Strategic alliances with airlines, hotels and transport companies help the team fix the details of an event, from flights and rooms to coaches. Photographs on the company's pages show the range: a pool party, a long banquet for hundreds in a large industrial hall, a conference auditorium, and a group of kayakers beside a sea cave, a type of outing that suits the coast described in our Blue Grotto guide.

The team and its values

The business was started by Douglas Barbaro Sant and Erika Farrugia Harding. The crew includes Rowena Spiteri as leisure and events manager, Laurent Coleiro as operations manager, Helga Catania as hub manager, and sales and operations colleagues Pol Fanlo, Frida Briffa, Julian Friggieri, Claudia Cassar and Maria Grazia Idili. Esperanza Moreno represents MI Global in Spain.

Five values shape the work: teamwork, clear and proactive communication with clients, a human touch, community spirit and successful events. The team keeps communication going from the first quote to the final event.

Social responsibility is part of the business. MI Global works with organisations including the Nuns of Mother Teresa, the YMCA, Women for Women and the Inspire Foundation, and it has helped during crises, including evacuation missions in Ukraine and support for a voluntary aid organisation in Romania.
