My Poppins & Co

Who runs it and how it began

My Poppins & Co was founded in August 2018 by Julia Pussiau, who holds a master's degree in Human Resources and Recruitment and had more than a decade of experience in that field before starting the agency. She set out to give parents in Malta a trustworthy, high-quality childcare service that fits busy lifestyles, so that they can regain control of their week without compromising their children's happiness.

Julia leads the business as founder and chief executive. Jensine coordinates schedules and client enquiries as operations assistant, and Sarah supervises recruitment and training of the nannies. The mission is to support children's educational and social development while giving parents peace of mind.

Nannies, babysitters and corporate care

Regular nanny services provide full-time or part-time care built around a personalised plan. Nannies help with meals, naps, educational activities, homework and developmental milestones, and scheduling is flexible. Occasional babysitting suits a night out or a last-minute need, and urgent requests can be booked quickly through the app.

Corporate childcare solutions are aimed at employers. They include after-school care and regular nanny services for staff, tailored childcare plans, on-site care for events and conferences, and work with HR departments to include childcare in benefit packages. Safety, booking and the online academy

All nannies and babysitters are screened, trained and certified in paediatric first aid, with background checks and safety protocols in place. They speak good English, which is useful for British families, and specialised care is available for children with special needs, with nannies trained to give personalised support. A parent can ask for a particular nanny, subject to availability.

To book, create an account in the app, choose a service and set a time. Payment is made through the app once the hours worked are confirmed, with an invoice for your records. Cancellations within 24 hours of the booking may incur a fee, and the terms give the detail.

The My Poppins & Co Academy is an online programme for children aged 8 to 12, with live one-hour classes on subjects such as economics, global warming, history, ethics and technology, registered through the Learnwords platform.
