Myoka Spa at the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa is a hotel spa on Main Street in Balluta Bay, St Julian's, offering massage, body rituals, facials and spa days built around a heated indoor pool, hammam and spa garden. Its treatments blend Mediterranean, Oriental and Nordic traditions, and the menu runs from a thirty minute express session to a two hour hammam and massage ritual.

It is one of six Myoka locations in Malta, and it suits visitors staying around Sliema and St Julian's. On VisitMalta.co.uk it appears in our directory of spas in Malta, and the sections below set out the facilities, treatments, prices as printed, booking terms and how to get in touch.

A hotel spa on Balluta Bay

The spa is set inside the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa at 39 Main Street, Balluta Bay, one of the best known spots on the St Julian's coast. Balluta Bay is close to Sliema, so a treatment fits easily around a day of sightseeing or a seaside stay. Our guide to hotels in Sliema and St Julian's shows the accommodation options within a short distance, and the where to stay in Malta guide compares the main resort areas.

The spa is open from 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 7pm at weekends. Most of the packages include two hours of complimentary parking, which is a practical touch in a busy part of the island. Guests are advised to arrive about fifteen minutes before an appointment, so there is time to change into spa wear and talk through the treatment with the therapist.

Myoka's menu changes with the seasons. Autumn rituals use cranberry, hemp, birch and red wine, summer ones lean on Maltese salt, olive oil and prickly pear, and winter offers add hot stones and body butters.

Pool, hammam and relaxation spaces

The facilities are the reason many visitors book a package rather than a single massage. The spa has an extensive heated indoor pool, a hammam suite, a private couples suite with its own bath, hydrotherapy baths, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a steam room, a relaxation lounge, a spa garden and a nail bar. Treatment packages generally include time in these spaces, and the Maltese Sun-Kissed package gives two hours of access.

A typical visit starts with a welcome ritual and a drink, either a glass of Prosecco or a herbal tea. After your treatment you are free to swim, steam or rest in the lounge. The Maltese Sun-Kissed package includes towels and a bathrobe, and the spa garden gives the spa a calm outdoor corner.

Treatments from the Orient are part of the identity. The hammam rituals use warm steam and black soap exfoliation, the Ayurvedic massages use herbal compresses and stretching with an Indian head massage, and a singing bowl session rounds off some packages with a quiet energy flow ritual.

Massage and body rituals

Individual massages and signature treatments are grouped by purpose, including mindfulness, grounding, energy healing, muscle tension, detox, de-stress, pain relief and a custom treatment that you shape with the therapist. Seasonal rituals bring several of these together in one booking, with prices printed per person.

Ocean & Earth Harmony costs €109 and lasts 55 minutes, pairing a hemp body scrub with a back, neck and shoulder massage and a lifting facial massage. Deep Balance & Flexibility costs €130 for 75 minutes and combines an Ayurvedic herbal compress massage and stretching with an Indian head massage, a face mask and a singing bowl ritual. Chocolate & Cranberry Indulgence costs €135 for 85 minutes and uses a chocolate scrub, a cranberry mask massage and a purifying face mask.

Imperial Detox & Hammam Escape is the signature option at €190 for 120 minutes, with a 30 minute Oriental hammam, black soap exfoliation, a foam massage, an 85 minute birch full body massage and a hydrating silk face ritual. Maltese Sun-Kissed costs €135 and brings local ingredients together: a Maltese salt scrub, a full body massage with olive oil and a prickly pear face mask. In the colder months the menu adds hot stone sessions and winter body treatments.

Facials and skin care

Facials run from relaxing express sessions to advanced skin treatments. The menu groups them as anti-age facials, new age facials and holistic facials, with names such as Hydrate, Purify, Rejuvenate and Radiance CBD. Technology treatments include radio frequency anti-ageing, cavitation and ultrasound, skin renewal by microdermabrasion, skin tightening and micro-needling with radio frequency. A Biologique Recherche range offers face and body care tailored to your skin after a consultation.

A medical aesthetics section is also on the menu, with treatments such as red light therapy, laser, IV therapies, Botox and fillers. Laser hair removal has its own menu entry. Ask which of these are provided at the Balluta Bay spa when you enquire, as the wider Myoka menu covers all of its locations.

For something shorter, the Skin Reset costs €125 and combines a regeneration facial, a 25 minute massage chair session in the relaxation lounge and red light facial therapy. Any package can be topped up with a 25 minute anti-ageing facial workout for €30, which uses muscle stimulation and red light to lift and brighten the skin. The Mediterranean Glow spa day at €90 includes a 50 minute massage with citrus oils and herbs, a sea mineral face mask and a sun protection finish.

Couples treatments, midweek days and gifts

The private couples suite is the setting for shared treatments. The Autumn Spa Date costs €250 for two and lasts 80 minutes, with a red wine body mask, a red wine massage, a nourishing facial and a welcome glass of Prosecco or herbal tea. Winter and seasonal couples rituals use hot stones and side by side massages.

Several offers run on Monday to Thursday only, which suits visitors with flexible plans. City Reset costs €89 for a 55 minute full body massage with a face and scalp massage, a detox drink and use of the pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. The Radiance Reset costs €150 for 85 minutes and combines a foot ritual, a 55 minute full body massage, a 30 minute glow facial and lunch.

Gift vouchers can be bought online for any treatment, a half day or a full day programme, and they can be used at any Myoka Spa in Malta. Vouchers are not refundable and must be presented when booking. Booking, arrival and spa policies

All bookings are prepaid and charged to a credit or debit card when you reserve, and the spa accepts cash, cheques and all major cards. Cancellations need 24 hours notice to avoid an automatic 50% charge, and no-shows are charged half of the treatment price.

If you have had surgery in the last six months, have a medical condition or are pregnant, tell the spa when you book so the therapists can adjust the treatment. Advice on whether a treatment is suitable comes from the spa team, not from this page.

If you are timing a visit around the sea and sun, our Malta weather guide shows what each month is like, while the heated indoor pool keeps the spa useful all year.

Other Myoka spas and getting in touch

If your itinerary takes you elsewhere, Myoka also runs spas at the Hilton Malta in St Julian's, the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa at Golden Bay, the DoubleTree by Hilton in Qawra, the Salini Resort and 66 Saint Paul's & Spa in Valletta, which offers treatments but not the full spa facilities. Our Golden Bay guide, guide to hotels in Qawra and Bugibba and Valletta guide help if you are choosing between them.

To ask about a treatment, a couples package or a gift voucher at the Marriott spa, use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to the Myoka team.
