Nataraya Day Spa & Wellness is a hotel-based day spa in Mellieħa, the resort town at the northern end of the island. Its approach is a modern spa with ancient influences, and it works from two sites: the Solana Hotel & Spa and the Pergola Hotel & Spa. You do not need to be a hotel guest to book a treatment, a half day or a membership, which makes it an easy addition to a beach break in the north.
On VisitMalta.co.uk it sits in our directories of spas in Malta, swimming pools in Malta and gyms in Malta, because it combines treatments with pool and fitness access.
An inclusive spa menu
Nataraya has designed what it calls the first inclusive spa menu in Malta. Every treatment can be taken whatever your age or gender, and each couples' package is written to suit any relationship, so friends, partners, parents and children can all book with confidence. The spa also hosts group celebrations in a multi-therapy room, with a package for a minimum of three people at €390 and another for a minimum of six at €570.
The treatments use organic ingredients, and the therapists talk through your energy levels, skin and how much relaxation you want before tailoring a session.
Massages, Ayurveda and body rituals
Massage is the core of the menu. A Traditional Swedish full body massage starts at €59, an aromatherapy massage at €76, deep tissue and personalised sports massage at €50 and a lava stone massage at €46. Shorter options include a back, neck and shoulder massage at €39.50 and back relief cupping at €55, while the Blissfully Extended Full Body Massage runs for an hour and a half and costs €129.
Ayurvedic treatments take inspiration from traditional Indian wellbeing practice. The list includes Abhyangam at €99.50, Mantra Kizhi at €99.50, Shirodhara at €75, the Ayur Shanthi Trilogy at €120 and the two hour Ayur Shakti Ritual at €160.
Sea-based body care is another strength. Thalasso Luxe, an exfoliating treatment, is €69, the Algae Wrap Delice is €82, and a Three-In-One Marine Slimming Treatment starts at €80. For something longer, The Nirvana Experience lasts five hours and starts at €290.
Facials, pregnancy care and family options
Facials range from a 30 minute Express Customised Facial at €39.50, suited to a first visit, to the 90 minute Ocean Secret Intensive AntiAgeing Facial at €90 and the My Nataraya Signature Facial at €85. Several of the facial lines draw on seaweed, with its minerals, vitamins and amino acids.
A pregnancy and parenthood section includes the Elemis Peaceful Pregnancy Massage at €99.90, an Anti-Stress massage for the partner at the same price, and a Skinfood Organic Facial at €75. Younger guests are covered too: Little Luxuries, for children under 14, costs €49.
Couples' packages and day access
Couples can choose from packages such as the two hour fifteen minute Duo Wellness Journey at €210, the Combo Pick For Two at €110, and the Exotic Island Escape For 2 at €250. For something longer, the 2-Day Platinum Spa Journey For 2 spreads treatments over two days for €220, and the Amore Mio Booster adds a romantic extra for €45.
Facilities include indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, a chromotherapy hydrotherapy bath, fitness areas and relaxation lounges. Half Day Access costs €30, and exclusive use of the hydrotherapy bath starts at €25 for 30 minutes, or €53 for two. Treatment packages include use of the pool, sauna, bath, fitness room and relaxation areas for a morning, an afternoon or the full day.
Pool and fitness memberships
If you are staying for longer, Nataraya sells memberships for the pool, gym, sauna and relaxation areas. A one week membership costs €125 and a one month membership €200. Six months is €295 and one year is €395, with chromotherapy bath sessions included in the longer plans. Memberships for two cost €445 for six months and €595 for a year.
The memberships cover an indoor pool with hydro-jets and a panoramic infinity pool that is not heated. The heated outdoor pool, which is seasonal, is at Solana only. Memberships run all year, including Sundays and public holidays.
