Paradise Watersports Malta is a boat and water sports operator based on Triq Il-Marfa in Mellieħa, the northern resort town that looks across the channel to Comino and Gozo. Its mix is aimed at visitors who want a beach day that is a bit more active: you can float on a paddle board, fly above the bay on a parasail, speed along the coast on a jet ski, or let a boat do the work on a trip to the caves of Comino.
It appears in our directory of water sports in Malta, and the area around it is described in our Mellieħa guide.
Comino trips and the Blue Lagoon
Many people choose Paradise for a day on or by the water around Comino, the small car-free island between Malta and Gozo. Our Blue Lagoon guide explains what to expect at its shallow, clear bay.
The simplest option is the Comino ferry ride. The crossing takes about 20 minutes, includes a free guided tour of the caves and costs €15, and you can return at your leisure. The coastal cruises are half-day trips to Comino, Crystal Lagoon, Santa Maria Bay and the Blue Lagoon, with time for swimming and exploring, and are priced at €30. The sunset tour is four hours and also costs €30. It leaves at 4pm from Paradise Bay Hotel, Lido, Ċirkewwa or Marfa, passes through the sea caves of Comino, stops for a swim at Crystal Lagoon and Santa Maria Bay, and gives two hours at the Blue Lagoon before the sun goes down.
Weather affects boat days, so look at our Malta weather guide when choosing your dates.
Gozo quad and Comino boat adventure
One day combines two islands. The five-hour Gozo Quad and Comino Boat Adventure leaves at 9am daily, starting with a two-hour boat tour of Comino's caves, a swim and time to snorkel. You then switch to a quad bike for a three-hour guided tour of Gozo's coast and countryside, taking in Qala Belvedere, Mixta Cave, Ramla Bay, Marsalforn and the Salt Pans, with lunch at Hickory Joe's included.
It costs €119 for a solo quad or €199 for a shared quad, and the price covers the skipper and boat fuel, snorkelling equipment, the guided quad tour, fully comprehensive insurance, safety equipment and lunch. Drivers must be over 21 and hold a valid car driving licence, and tours depend on minimum booking numbers and suitable weather. Our Gozo guide gives more background on the island.
Kayaking, paddle boarding, parasailing and jet skis
The activity list is priced simply. Kayaking starts at €12, with single or double kayaks and sessions of one to three hours around Ċirkewwa, where paddlers can look for caves and quiet beaches. Beginners are welcome. Stand-up paddleboarding costs €15, with SUP sessions of one or two hours in Santa Maria Bay or Crystal Lagoon. Parasailing costs €65 for about 12 minutes in the air, with views of Comino, Gozo and the surrounding islands. A jet ski safari costs €60 for a 30-minute ride along the coast, past cliffs and caves, suitable for experienced riders and first-timers alike.
If you are building a week around the water, our things to do in Malta and best beaches in Malta pages give wider ideas, while the Mellieħa hotels page covers places to stay nearby. For the bigger picture of a trip to the islands, the Malta holidays overview and our guide to flights to Malta cover planning from the UK. Because the activities differ in effort, tell the team who is coming, including the ages of any children, so they can point you to the right option.
