About the company and its boats
Seahorse Cruises was created out of a passion for the sea, with the aim of making trips to Malta's sister islands easy and enjoyable. The family that runs it keeps groups from feeling crowded, and the crew treats guests like family, so the trips suit couples, families with children and older travellers alike. The shared tours run on a traditional wooden sailing boat with spacious decks and shade, while the smaller Sea Master speedboat is used for fast trips and private hire. Itineraries are flexible, with options for Gozo, Comino and the Blue Lagoon.
Day cruises to Comino and Gozo
The Comino and Blue Lagoon cruise costs €35 per person and runs from 10.30am to 5pm. It passes St Paul's Island, then spends 2.5 hours at the Blue Lagoon for swimming and snorkelling, with a further 1.5 hours at Santa Maria Bay, plus visits to sea caves, the Crystal Lagoon and dramatic rock formations.
The Gozo, Comino and Blue Lagoon cruise costs €40 per person over the same hours. It follows Malta's north coast past St Paul's Island, Mellieħa Bay and Smuggler's Cove, stops at Gozo with transport to the capital, Victoria, and its market, then gives you 1.5 hours at the Blue Lagoon and a look at Comino's caves and the Elephant's Head rock. Our Gozo guide, Blue Lagoon guide and Mellieħa guide describe what you will see.
Sunset and speedboat trips
The sunset cruise costs €30 per person and runs from 5.30pm to 9.30pm, with boarding closing at 5.05pm. It sails past St Paul's Island and Comino's caves before anchoring in the Blue Lagoon for two hours, away from the daytime crowds, with food, drinks and music on board.
Speedboat tours take small groups of up to 11 passengers to the Blue Lagoon and Comino's sea caves. A private charter of the Sea Master speedboat costs €350 for 3.5 hours for up to 11 people with no minimum, and includes a skipper, fuel, a freshwater shower, shaded seating and a sound system. The route is flexible and the start time is set in your booking. Charters are non-refundable and cannot be extended if you arrive late.
On board and what to bring
The boats have a sun deck, shaded seating, toilets, a side ladder with shower and a diving platform, and live commentary is given in English and Italian. A bar sells snacks, drinks and light meals, and outside food, drinks and coolers are not allowed. Snorkelling masks are available with a €10 refundable deposit, and children are welcome.
Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, a hat and cash, since only cash is accepted on board. Since May 2025 a free QR code landing pass, booked online in advance, is needed to step ashore at the Blue Lagoon, though not if you stay on the boat. The captain may change the route or timings in poor weather, and a cancelled trip is offered another date or a refund. Check our Malta weather guide when planning.
