Vallettina Atelier is a women's boutique on Strait Street in Valletta, the narrow street that runs through the heart of Malta's baroque capital. It sells carefully curated and crafted pieces in natural, sustainable fibres, with a clear emphasis on quality over volume: the clothes are produced in small, limited runs. The story behind the name

The name Vallettina nods to the capital itself and to the founder, Melanie, who thinks of herself as a Valletta girl, connected to its streets, textures, light and changing cultural energy. The boutique is described as a quiet homage to the city: elegant without excess, historic yet contemporary, and intimate yet cosmopolitan.

The idea is to offer an alternative to fast fashion, built on craftsmanship, selectivity and sustainability. For a visitor, that means a small shop with a clear point of view rather than a broad range. Fabrics, clothing and care

The pieces are made from natural fibres: EcoVero, a certified sustainable viscose, Modal, silk and linen. The fabrics are sourced on buying trips. Care is straightforward but needs attention: most pieces can be hand washed or machine washed on a delicate cold cycle and dried flat, and silk and EcoVero should not be tumble dried.
