Yippee Tours Gozo is a tour operator based in Għajnsielem, near the ferry port at Mġarr Harbour, running guided day trips around Gozo and Comino by tuk tuk, jeep, quad bike, buggy and boat. Hotel pick-up in Malta is included. You can enquire through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page.
Yippee Tours Gozo runs guided day trips around Gozo and Comino, using tuk tuks, jeeps, quad bikes, buggies and its own boats. The business started in 2018 and is part of Cominology Ltd. Its booking office is near the ferry port in Għajnsielem, and its minivans collect guests from their accommodation in Malta and take them to the sea crossing, so you can see the sister island without arranging ferries or taxis yourself.
Most tours last about seven hours, include a boat trip around Comino and are available every day of the year, with summer sunset versions and boat-only cruises from mid-April to mid-October. The business is listed in our directory of tour operators in Malta.
How a Yippee day out works
You choose a tour, pay a deposit of €25 per person and receive a voucher by email with your pick-up time and place. On the day a minivan collects you from your hotel or accommodation in Malta, drives you to Marfa Quay or the Ċirkewwa Café, and a Yippee boat takes you across to Gozo. A guide or chauffeur meets you at Mġarr Harbour, and at the end of the day you sail back past Comino and are driven to the point where you were collected. In summer you are back at Marfa by 17:30, and in winter by 17:00.
If you are staying in Gozo, collection is from your Gozo accommodation, and the tour ends at Mġarr Harbour. Guests who choose the Comino cruise must make their own way back from the harbour afterwards, and the bus from near the ferry terminal or a ride-hailing app such as Bolt or Uber will get you there. Cancellations and rescheduling are allowed up to 24 hours before departure. To plan the Malta end of the journey, see our hotels in Mellieħa, which are close to the departure point, and our Gozo guide for background on the island.
Chauffeured tours: tuk tuk and jeep safari
The tuk tuk tour is a relaxed day for couples, families and groups. The colourful tuk tuks carry up to six passengers on forward-facing seats and are driven by a multilingual tour leader. The price is €85 for adults and €60 for children aged 3 to 12, and infants travel free, although lunch is not included for them. The tour includes a light traditional Gozitan lunch, hotel transfers and the Comino boat trip, and arrival in Gozo is at 10:00.
Stops include the Sanap Cliffs, Xlendi, the Knights' wash houses at Fontana, the Citadel in Victoria, Dwejra Bay with its Inland Sea and Fungus Rock, and Ta' Pinu Basilica. A visit to the Ġgantija temples in Xagħra, a UNESCO World Heritage site older than the pyramids of Egypt, is optional, and the entrance fee is extra, though skip-the-line tickets can be arranged. The jeep safari follows a similar route in a 4x4 that seats five, and a Calypso viewpoint can replace the temples. Both tours are chauffeured, so nobody needs a driving licence.
The Citadel stop leaves time to wander its old alleys, step inside the baroque cathedral with its trompe l'oeil painting and climb the bastion walls for 360-degree views over the island. At Dwejra Bay, once home to the Azure Window, a natural arch that collapsed in a storm, you can see the Inland Sea, Fungus Rock and the watchtower, a location also used as a backdrop for the first season of Game of Thrones. Many of these places are hard to reach by public transport, which is where a local driver helps.
Self-drive quad and buggy tours
For something more adventurous, the quad bike and buggy tours let you drive in a convoy behind an experienced leader on rugged valleys, backroads and coastal routes. Quads are 570cc four-wheel-drive machines, and buggies are fully automatic two-seaters. A quad costs €115 for a solo rider or €195 to share between two, which works out at €97.50 per person.
Drivers must be at least 21, show an original full driving licence, which cannot be a provisional or temporary one or a copy, and wear closed shoes. Child passengers must be aged 5 or over, and a driver and passenger may take turns at the wheel if both qualify. Insurance, fuel, helmets, hair nets and rain covers are included, and so is a picnic during a long stop. The vehicles are third-party insured, and an excess of €450 applies if you are at fault in an accident or damage the vehicle. Tours start at 10:30 and run every day of the year, and the guides give commentary in English and French.
Quad and buggy tours take in the Ta' Ċenċ cliffs, Xlendi, Fontana, Dwejra and Wied il-Għasri, and the crossing back sails around Comino's caves with a swim stop in summer. A self-drive tour also differs from simply hiring a quad: you follow a tested itinerary with a guide, a boat return and transfers, while a hire quad leaves you to find your own way and sort out fuel and paperwork.
Boat trips to Comino and around Gozo
From mid-April to mid-October, Yippee offers boat trips without the land tour. The Comino and Gozo morning cruise costs €25 per person and circles Comino and Gozo's south-east coast, with time to swim and snorkel and a view of the Blue Lagoon. A sunset version suits couples and relaxed half-day plans, and a round Gozo boat tour, costing €65 per person, visits bays around both islands with several swim stops.
The boats are equipped with a swimming platform, and swim stops and crossings depend on the weather. In rough conditions the crossing is made by the public ferry, with tickets provided at no extra cost, and in summer the swim stop then moves to Gozo. Our Blue Lagoon guide explains the lagoon's setting and the best times to visit, and the best beaches in Malta page covers the sandy alternatives.
Sunset, private and group tours
Between mid-April and mid-October, each land tour has a sunset version that starts in the early afternoon, so you avoid the busiest part of the day at Comino and end with the sun going down over Gozo. Tuk tuk, jeep, quad and buggy sunset tours are available, each following the same format as the daytime version but starting after a slow morning. Comino is quieter at that hour, which makes it a good choice for couples and for anyone who prefers to avoid the midday crowds. There are also private tuk tuk and jeep days with a dedicated chauffeur and a flexible itinerary, group tours that the team plans and manages for travel agencies, incentive groups and school trips, boat charters for team events and birthdays, and a Christmas tuk tuk tour in the festive season.
Guides and drivers speak English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Polish and Arabic, depending on availability, and the wider team also hosts in Czech and Hungarian when available. The business holds an MTA licence and MTA Quality Assured status, and was named Adventure Tour Company of the Year at the 2025 THA Travel and Hospitality Awards.
