Yoga Malta is a yoga studio on Manoel Island in Gżira that teaches outdoors and indoors, with classes in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and power yoga. It also runs stand up paddleboard sessions, sunset sailing yoga, meditation, workshops and teacher training courses. Send your enquiry through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page and we will pass it on.

Yoga Malta teaches yoga on terraces, beaches and paddleboards as well as in a studio, which makes it one of the more adventurous ways for a UK visitor to unroll a mat in Malta. Its home is Manoel Island in Gżira, and classes spread out to Sliema, the Riviera beach, Msida and the water itself. It is listed in our directories of yoga studios in Malta and meditation in Malta.

All classes are open to every level, because teachers give variations on poses for different degrees of experience. The styles are rooted in classical Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin yoga.

The teachers are international and come from several lineages, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin and Restorative yoga. The studio talks about offering more than twenty styles of wellness, yoga and meditation, and it also lists full moon yoga and a Bali yoga retreat among its events, so there is more than a weekly class to choose from if you are staying a while.

Yoga classes on land

The regular timetable includes Hatha Vinyasa flow, Yin Yang yoga, power yoga, Yin yoga and beach yoga. Sessions are held at Manoel Island, at sunrise in Sliema, at the studio in Msida and on Sundays at the Riviera beach, close to the sands described in our Golden Bay guide. Printed prices for these yoga classes are €17 each.

Meditation sits alongside the yoga. The studio lists OSHO Dynamic Meditation, a breathwork and meditation class and a foundational course in pranayama and meditation priced at €200 with a €20 deposit. Occasional workshops go deeper into topics such as arm balances, inversions and backbends or a sound vibration journey.

Paddleboards and sailing

SUP yoga combines paddleboarding with a yoga practice on the water, which tests balance and focus. There are 90-minute mindfulness SUP and SUP yoga sessions, such as a sunrise paddle and mindfulness session at Sliema priced at €45, plus three-hour guided SUP tours of the coast, hidden caves and clear water. The tours do not include yoga. A Blue Grotto tour at €60 is one example, and our Blue Grotto guide shows what is around it. Other outings are listed for Gnejna Bay, Mistra Bay, Coral Lagoon and Popeye Village, and our Popeye Village guide covers that stop. Paddleboards, paddles and masks are provided as rental items.

The sunset sailing yoga experience runs about four hours on a catamaran from Ta' Xbiex to the south or north of Malta. It includes a swim, a gentle yoga and meditation practice and snacks and tea, though alcohol is not allowed. Bring a mat or towel, a sweater and a swimsuit.

Attendance is compulsory at every module to meet Yoga Alliance US regulations, and missed modules are arranged privately at €100 per hour of teacher time.
