Domino's Qawra

Domino's Qawra is the northern outpost of Domino's Pizza in Malta, a store on Triq il-Maskli that works mainly as a delivery and carry-out kitchen. It is one of four Domino's branches on the island, the others being in Birkirkara, Fgura and San Gwann, and all of them share one ordering system: pick delivery or carry-out, build the order on the Domino's Malta website or in the free Domino's app, and pay at checkout. Deals and the carry-out meal

Domino's in Malta sells largely through rolling offers, and several of them reward collecting the order yourself rather than having it delivered. The Restaurant Meal Deal costs €9.99, with a 10c BCRS bottle deposit on top, and brings a small pizza chosen from five flavours, a 0.5L drink and a lava cake. It is a carry-out offer, so the meal is picked up at the counter.

Larger groups have two other routes. Three selected Jumbo pizzas come with 30% off, again for carry-out only, and on Mondays and Tuesdays anyone who buys two pizzas gets a third free, all day. Pickup orders worth more than €20 also earn a free 1.5L bottle of soft drink. Deals change regularly, and newsletter subscribers hear about new ones first, so check the current list before ordering. Gluten-free pizza

A gluten-free pizza base is now part of the Domino's Malta range. Coeliac customers should be aware, though, that there is still a risk of gluten exposure in the store kitchen, and anyone with a gluten sensitivity is asked to use their own judgement before ordering it.

Delivery, tracking and contactless drop-off

Once an order is placed, the Domino's Pizza Tracker follows it in real time from the oven to the door. Delivery can also be contactless: pay online by credit card, PayPal or iBank Pay, and when the driver reaches the address they ring the bell, leave the order at the entrance and wait at a safe distance until it has been taken inside. Around Qawra

Qawra is a resort zone within St Paul's Bay, next to Buġibba and Salina, and its seafront is lined with hotels, bars and restaurants. Three sights lie within a short distance of the store. Buġibba Temple, a megalithic temple standing in the grounds of a hotel on the Qawra and Buġibba boundary, is about 350 metres away. The Malta National Aquarium, the largest on the islands with more than 175 species of fish, molluscs, reptiles and insects, is about 500 metres away. Perellos Redoubt, a coastal defence the Order of St John put up on Salina Bay in 1715 and 1716, was about 500 metres away until it was demolished after the Second World War. The modern parish church of St Francis of Assisi, designed by Richard England, serves both Qawra and Buġibba.
