Attard Bros Group is one of Malta's long-established building groups. Since 1977 it has grown from a family business into an organisation that makes building materials, manages construction, fit-out and joinery projects, and develops homes, all from a central 40,000 square metre site in the Industrial Zone at Ta' Qali. Ta' Qali sits in the middle of the island, close to Attard, Mdina and Rabat, which makes it easy to reach from most areas.

A family company since 1977

Michael's children began to contribute to the company in the early 2000s, building up different departments according to their strengths. Attard Materials: from foundation to finish

Attard Materials supplies construction materials for every stage of a build. The group's contact structure points to a number of specialist units: concrete, precast, bricks, general building materials, reinforcing bar and mesh, and a quality control laboratory led by a perit, the Maltese title for a qualified architect and civil engineer.

Producing its own materials gives the group control over quality, and the ISO 9001 quality management certification is aimed at delivering reliable, top-tier materials while improving operations continuously. Attard Projects: construction, fit-out and joinery

Attard Projects oversees construction, fit-out and joinery with a hands-on project management approach, coordinating a full range of services with trusted contractors. On construction, the team handles every stage from excavation and demolition to complex structures, for residential, commercial and operationally sensitive sites. Related services include civil engineering, EPC contracts, project management and consultancy, temporary facilities, and restoration and conservation work.

Fit-out turns shells into working spaces, from inspiring offices to functional retail environments. The team treats a well-designed fit-out as an investment in staff, brand and business future, and takes time to understand how a business operates before translating that into a space. The team covers waterproofing and exterior works, structural alterations, mechanical and electrical systems, partitioning, plastering and gypsum, landscaping, interior design and décor, and fire and security systems. A strategic partnership with the European design network Studio Alliance connects clients with further architecture and interior design expertise, and the group offers different levels of involvement, from design services to working alongside partners the client has chosen.

Bespoke joinery and Design and Build 360

Bespoke joinery has been part of the group for over 30 years. The in-house department makes custom furniture and combines bespoke and ready-made pieces for commercial and high-end residential fit-outs. It also offers project management for furniture design, production and installation, consultation with architects and designers, and furniture restoration and refinishing. Design and Build 360 brings construction, fit-out and joinery together into a single turnkey route, with conceptual design, technical planning, execution and handover managed in house. A second model, Design and Build with Investment, sees the group act as a co-investor with owners and developers on commercial or mixed-use schemes that balance investment potential with quality, offered where the fit is right.

Attard Properties builds modern residences in sought-after locations and is run by Noel, one of the founder's children. The photographs on the group's site show contemporary apartment buildings with glass balustrades and timber slats, and the division works with property negotiators who handle sales enquiries. The aim is to build top-tier homes in the most sought-after locations, with the same quality control that runs through the rest of the group.

Standards, safety and awards

The group holds ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety and ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management. It is the first ISO 45001 certified construction group in Malta, and safety is treated as the foundation of every project, protecting people on site and the group's reputation alike.

In 2025 it won two awards at the first annual Excellence in Construction Awards: Dedication to Sustainability and Commitment to Wellbeing, Health and Safety. It also received the HR Quality Mark from the Foundation for Human Resources Development, which recognises positive and inclusive people management. The environmental certification, maintained as a recent accreditation, is the basis for the sustainability award, and it commits the group to building sustainable practice into every stage of its work.
