Bangkok Wellness is a calm place to stop in the middle of St Julian's, one of Malta's busiest resort areas. It was founded by Natticha, who leads a team offering massage, beauty and wellness treatments, and its menu centres on Eastern techniques such as authentic Thai massage alongside aroma, deep tissue and hot stone work. Massage treatments

Massages are split into full body and focused treatments. The full body list includes a Classic Oil Massage and Hot Stone Massage, both at gentle to medium pressure, a Sports (Deep Tissue) Massage at medium to deep pressure, Authentic Thai Massage performed fully clothed on a mat without oil, and a Thai Massage with Oil. There is also a Lymphatic Drainage Massage, a Bangkok four-hand-style massage in which two therapists work in sync, and a Pregnancy Massage for women between four and eight months.

Focused treatments suit shorter visits: back, neck, head and arms, an upper body massage with hot stones, foot reflexology, head massage, face massage and legs massage. Each listing states its pressure level, so you can choose between gentle and firm. Foot reflexology is not suitable during pregnancy, and anyone who is pregnant should check with their own doctor before booking and tell the therapist about any complications.

Beauty, nails and waxing

The beauty menu has printed prices. Manicures run from a nail polish at €15 and an express manicure at €20 to a spa manicure at €25, with gel and polish additions at €30 to €35 and nail overlays at €40. Pedicures start at €20 for an express pedicure, with a basic pedicure at €40 and a spa pedicure at €50. Nail extensions are €50 for a full set and €40 for a gel refill, with a French style costing €5 extra.

Waxing is available for women and men, with eyebrows at €10, upper lip at €4, under arms at €10, lower legs at €15 and full legs at €25 for women or €30 for men. The Brazilian and Hollywood options are €30 for women and €50 for men, and eyebrow and eyelash tinting is €25.

Facials and permanent make-up

Facials are tailored after a consultation and a zone-by-zone face mapping skin analysis. The menu includes an anti-aging facial at €50 for 40 minutes, a deep clean with hydro at €40 for 40 minutes, a 60-minute firming facial at €50, an express facial at €40 and a V Up and Collagen treatment at €90 for 60 minutes.

Permanent make-up is also available. Eyebrows cost €160 the first time and €100 for a second visit, eyeliner is €200, and lips are €300 the first time with the second visit free.

Booking and visiting

The studio opens daily from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. Walk-ins are welcome, though booking ahead is recommended, and online bookings can be made up to one hour in advance. Couples massages are available, and groups of four or more are arranged personally. For Thai massage wear comfortable clothing, and for oil massages towels are provided and your privacy is respected.
