Brown's Pharmacy St Julian's

St Julian's is where many UK visitors spend their evenings, and Brown's Pharmacy has a branch on Pjazza Qalb ta' Gesu, at number 6, for the practical side of a stay: sun care, supplements, skin care and everyday health needs. It is one of several Brown's shops in the northern resort area, alongside branches in Sliema, Swieqi and San Pawl.

It appears on VisitMalta.co.uk in our directory of pharmacies in Malta. For somewhere to stay nearby, see our hotels in Sliema and St Julian's. The pharmacy is a convenient errand to run on the way to the coast.

What to expect

No service list or opening hours are published for this shop, so we do not guess at either. A sensible approach is to treat it as a full community pharmacy within a larger group, and to ask the pharmacist directly about anything specific you need, whether that is a product, a brand or a question about how a service works.

UK visitors with regular medication should carry it in the original packaging with the prescription details to hand. The pharmacist can then tell you what is possible locally. VisitMalta.co.uk does not give medical advice, so take health questions to the pharmacist or a doctor.

A Find a Doctor page is part of the group's website, which suggests the pharmacies sit within a wider health offering. Doctors are not named for this branch, so ask the pharmacy whether any clinician visits.

A beauty and wellness retailer

Brown's pitches itself under the banner of empowering wellness, joining health and beauty. Its product pages feature Artdeco make-up, including a waterproof mascara, a lip booster and a product designed to fix lipstick in place, and Phyris skin care such as a foam cleanser and an eye gel. BeautyPro adds hydrogel eye patches, a foot peeling treatment and a charcoal cleansing mask. Together they make up a wide choice for anyone who likes to compare products before buying.

On the health side, the Viridian range includes probiotics, magnesium, a joint formula and a daily multivitamin, while Coresatin offers barrier creams for dry or damaged skin and hand sanitising creams. Not every product on the group's website is necessarily on the shelves at Pjazza Qalb ta' Gesu, so ask first if you have a particular item in mind.

The company behind the shop

Brown's Pharma Limited runs the group from a head office and warehouse in the Central Business District at Qormi. The branch list runs to nearly thirty shops, and the site also carries a Find a Doctor page, a Brown's Express service, a careers section and an investor relations page, which gives a sense of the scale of the business behind a single counter in St Julian's.

Because the group is large, you may find several Brown's shops in a single area. If a product is unavailable at one branch, the pharmacist can say whether it is stocked elsewhere. Anyone moving to Malta for the long term will find it useful to learn which pharmacies are close to home, and our UK guide to relocating to Malta covers other practical steps.
