Cool For You Malta

Cool For You Malta is an independent air conditioning company based in San Pawl il-Baħar, better known to British visitors as St Paul's Bay. It installs, maintains, repairs and replaces air conditioners for families and businesses, and it also works with heat pump systems that warm a room in winter as well as cooling it in summer. The team has more than nine years of experience in the trade and aims to attend within 24 hours.

You can compare it with other installers in our directory of air conditioning companies in Malta. This page sets out what the firm does, which brands it fits and how to send an enquiry through VisitMalta.co.uk.

What the company does

The firm's work falls into four simple strands. Installation covers energy-efficient air conditioners for homes and commercial premises. Maintenance covers complete servicing and cleaning of all types of unit. Repair is built around a quick response, and replacement means taking out an old air conditioner and fitting a newer, more efficient one.

Its heat pump work matters in Malta because the same outdoor unit that cools in July can heat a living room on a cold January evening. British owners who expect a mild Mediterranean winter are often surprised how chilly an unheated stone house can feel, and our Malta weather guide shows how temperatures change through the year.

The business also supplies MRV systems, a multi-room arrangement in which one outdoor unit serves several indoor units, which suits larger homes, apartments and small commercial buildings.

Brands and technology

Cool For You Malta is independent and chooses equipment from several manufacturers rather than tying itself to one. It works with Daikin, Haier, Beko and Samsung. A good deal of its site is devoted to Samsung's WindFree range, which cools using still air rather than a direct blast, so a room feels evenly comfortable without a cold draught across the sofa.

The company points to lower running costs from WindFree mode, with the outdoor unit drawing minimal power, and to quieter operation than the normal cooling mode. It also quotes energy savings of up to 77 per cent for modern systems. Treat any saving figure as a best case, and ask the team what you can expect for your own home before you decide.

Another feature is the FastPipe gas pipe, offered as an alternative to copper refrigerant pipework. The pipe carries a 30-year warranty, loses no heat, and is cheaper and more reliable than copper.

Who it works for

Customers range from homeowners to companies. The team fits new systems in family houses and flats, and it also works on commercial premises. If you are buying a property on the north coast, perhaps after reading our Mellieħa guide, it is worth asking an installer to check the existing units and the position of the outdoor equipment before you complete.

Holiday-home owners can use the maintenance service to have units cleaned and checked before the season. Long summers mean filters and coils collect dust and salt air, and a clean unit cools better and costs less to run.

Those living near the northern beaches, such as the sands in our Golden Bay guide, will notice how quickly salt and sand affect outdoor equipment, so regular servicing is a sensible habit.

Where the team is based

The company's address is Block C5, fourth floor, in San Pawl il-Baħar, on the north-east coast. The area is a short drive from Mellieħa and the ferry terminal for Gozo (see our Gozo island guide), and it is close to the family attractions around Popeye Village and the boat trips to the Blue Lagoon on Comino.

Air conditioner installation, maintenance and repair are offered within 24 hours, which suits anyone whose unit fails in the middle of a heatwave. Because opening hours are not published, the quickest route is to describe the job in your enquiry so the team can reply with a plan.

How to start

Tell the team where the property is, how many rooms you wish to cool or heat, whether you need a new installation, servicing, a repair or a replacement, and any brand preference. If you are choosing a Samsung WindFree unit, mention it so the team can talk you through the model range.
