Enemed is Malta's state-owned fuel importer and distributor, selling eDiesel, ePower Diesel, eUnleaded and ePower Petrol through a network of stations across the islands, including this listing at Fisher Street in Mġarr. Enquiries go through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page.
Mġarr is a village in the north-west of Malta, a short drive from Golden Bay and Mellieħa and a handy place to fill up before a day at the beach. The Enemed station in this entry is part of a brand that supplies fuel across the Maltese Islands, so a hire car driver is likely to meet it on forecourts across the islands.
Enemed sells four fuels: eUnleaded, ePower Petrol, eDiesel and ePower Diesel. This page explains what each one is, what the company does behind the pumps and how to ask about the station. You can compare other stations in our petrol stations directory.
Who Enemed is
Enemed Company Ltd was set up on 1 September 2014 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the state-owned Petromal Company Ltd. It imports, distributes and wholesales petroleum products for the home market, including aviation, and also rents out its storage facilities to third parties. It is a major player in the Maltese fuel market.
The company holds ISO 9001:2015 quality, ISO 14001:2015 environmental and ISO 45001:2023 health and safety certification. Its aim is to be the preferred choice for customers, investors and its own team, supplying cleaner, safer and higher-quality fuels for households, leisure, commercial, industrial and aviation users.
The four fuels explained
eUnleaded is a standard petrol that meets the European EN228 specification and has an octane number of 95 RON. It can be mixed with ePower Petrol, which is a higher-octane unleaded with a minimum of 98 RON, meant for engines that benefit from extra anti-knock performance. Always check your vehicle's handbook for the octane it needs.
eDiesel is an EN590 diesel with a cetane number of 55 that contains renewable diesel but no biodiesel. ePower Diesel is also EN590 with a cetane level above 60 and added multifunction additives, which are intended to keep injectors clean and help particulate filters work. Both diesels are suitable for all diesel engines.
Finding a station
The Enemed website has a station locator covering the Maltese Islands. You can search by name, location or product, and choose between franchised and non-franchised stations, which is useful if you need a particular grade of fuel.
The directory listing for this entry is at Fisher Street in Mġarr, and the business pages carry no detail of the individual forecourt, so ask the business about services such as a shop, car wash or opening hours. In the wider network, the company also looks after a national fuel distribution and storage centre with a filling station, storage tanks, a laboratory and a distributed control system, which gives some idea of the scale behind the pumps. For driving north, read our Golden Bay guide and our Mellieħa guide, and see the best beaches in Malta for places to go after refuelling.
Around Mġarr
The north-west is a good base for drivers who want to reach Mdina and Rabat or the north coast. Our Mdina guide covers the old capital, and our things to do in Malta page lists wider ideas.
Businesses in the directory a few kilometres away include Abyss Diving Club Bugibba for dives, Adventure Hub for children's activities and All Seasons Home and Garden. If you are planning a longer stay, our Malta relocation guide explains the first practical steps.
Contacting the station
Questions about fuel grades, supply or opening hours are best put to the business directly. It helps to say what you need to know, for instance which fuels the Mġarr station sells, whether it is staffed, and what time it opens. Use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to Enemed, who will reply to you directly.
