Giardini Lambrosa

Giardini Lambrosa is a wedding and events venue set in open countryside on the main road to Rabat, with the Mdina skyline behind it. It opened in early 2016 and is run by Elia, a Maltese family catering business, so the venue and the food come together under one roof.

The venue and its facilities

The building has a contemporary, luxurious style. The main hall is a large open space with professionally designed lighting, fully climate controlled, and a multi-level outdoor area works as a natural extension of it, with gardens, terraces and country views. A kitchen is fully visible from the main hall, so guests can watch the chefs prepare what is served.

Facilities include hosts' quarters with en-suite facilities, quarters for the best man, free Wi-Fi for guests, fully equipped kitchens, accessible areas for people with special needs, an outdoor pool area, an outdoor area with a retractable canopy, four main bars, a photo area and private parking. The hall can be configured to suit weddings, parties, conferences, product launches and corporate events.

Capacity and prices

The figures below are indicative. For standing receptions the venue holds 525 people indoors, 750 outdoors and 1275 combined. For seated receptions it holds 120 indoors, 160 outdoors and 280 combined. In the indoor area alone, theatre format takes 300 guests, classroom format 100 and U-shaped format 120.

Wedding packages start from €8,500, and a 2026 wedding brochure is available on request. Elia also offers a food tasting session so you can sample the menu before you decide. Standing, seated and destination weddings are all part of the range. Elia's party food menu also gives an idea of the style: cold and warm canapés, savoury pastries, meat, poultry and seafood bites, sweets, and vegan and gluten-free choices, as well as cakes for weddings, birthdays and other occasions.

Visiting and planning

You can see the venue on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 17:00 and 19:00, when guided tours and consultations are available without an appointment. Two open days are announced for 14 November 2026 from 10:00 to 20:00 and 15 November 2026 from 10:00 to 19:00. A private viewing can be arranged with the Venues Manager.

About Elia Caterers

Elia was founded in Ħamrun on 7 October 1953 by Elia Borg Bonaci and his wife Rita, who opened a confectionery and coffee shop with a small bakery in the basement. Weddings and private events followed, the bakery moved to Villambrosa Street in 1964, and five sons took over day-to-day running in 1979. The company became Elia Borg Bonaci Ltd in 1980, bought its venue The Palms in St Julian's in 1994, and opened Giardini Lambrosa and Veranda together in 2016. A third venue, Villa Overhills near Birżebbuġa, followed.

The company is now run by the third generation of the family, and a family member is customarily present at the events it caters.
