JS Car Hire has rented cars in Malta since 1979, which makes it one of the longer-established names in the local trade. It combines the personal feel of a family business with the standards expected of a member of the Rent-a-Car association, and it now runs a fleet of more than 150 vehicles that are serviced regularly for safety.

The fleet

The range covers modern economical city cars, family cars, open-tops, mini-vans and MPVs, all fitted with air-conditioning, power steering and similar features. Rental groups run from A to K, and each lists a model with the wording or similar. The smallest is the Peugeot 108 hatchback for four, with the Hyundai i10 as an automatic alternative. Further up come the Peugeot 208, the Peugeot 2008 in manual and automatic forms, and the Citroen C3 automatic, each seating five.

Larger parties are covered too. The Peugeot Partner Tepee comes with five seats and ample luggage space, or with seven seats and restricted luggage space, while the Peugeot Traveller is an automatic nine-seater. If you have a lot of luggage or a big group, say so in your enquiry so the right group is quoted.

Every group is described with its seats and doors: the smaller hatchbacks have five doors and seat four or five, and the people carriers are five-door MPVs with air-conditioning and a radio. Transmission is shown for each group, so if you want an automatic for Malta's hilly, busy roads, ask for one when you request a quote. Models are listed as or similar, so the exact make on the day may differ from the example.

Terms that keep the price simple

Prices quoted online are final, with no additional or hidden fees, and every rental includes unlimited mileage. The fuel policy is also generous: there is no refuelling fee if the car comes back without a full tank. Short-term and long-term agreements are both available, with user-friendly terms and optional add-ons designed for business and leisure renters alike.
