Models M

Models M is a modelling agency based in Malta that has grown well beyond its original brief. Founded in 2004 under the name models.com.mt, it began by representing up and coming models for the fashion industry. Today the same team also organises fashion shows, shoots photography and directs advertising campaigns, editorials and television commercials.

For UK brands, magazines and event hosts looking for talent or a full production crew on the island, that combination is useful, because casting, styling and filming can be arranged through one company. The agency and its history

Carina Camilleri started the agency with her husband, Pierre Camille, to guide and promote aspiring models in Malta. A former model and an accomplished stylist, Carina has a reputation for spotting natural potential, and she helped launch the career of Tiffany Pisani, who went on to win Britain's Next Top Model in 2010. She remains the company's chief executive.

Pierre Camille is co-founder and Artistic Director, and Ben Camille, a photographer and coordinator, is the most recent addition to the core team. Together they have steered the business into new areas while keeping its first purpose: supporting models as individuals throughout their careers.

The business keeps a personal feel: Carina enjoys what first drew her to start the agency, working with her models to help them grow, and she backs them through each stage of a career. The same personal approach applies to clients, with an emphasis on a service that is individual to their needs.

Philosophy and who it works for

The agency aims to nurture its models to the highest professional and ethical standards and, in return, to give them the best possible representation. Clients are treated just as individually. The team wants to build lasting relationships and supply the most exciting talent for each job, rather than offering a standard package.

The roster is divided into male and female models, and its home page shows a long list of models by first name. Typical clients are fashion labels, advertisers and magazines, from local brands to international ones. Past campaign work shown on the website includes fashion advertising, magazine editorials and seasonal collections, shot with styling, hair and make-up from a creative team.

Production M: shoots, films and shows

Production M is the agency's production arm, offering a full photo and film service tailored to fashion and advertising clients. It also specialises in organising fashion shows and other events in Malta. The service list covers talent casting and booking, photography, filming, post-production, location sourcing, equipment sourcing, hair, make-up and styling, and fashion show and event organising.
