Moose Design Studio

Moose Design Studio is a small creative studio in Swieqi that brings together designers, marketers and web developers under one roof. Established in 2017, it is one of the independent practices you will find among the graphic designers in Malta, and it also builds websites and handles digital marketing, which is why it appears alongside the island's IT companies.

The studio's own description of itself is that it is not an agency. Its size is the point: a close-knit team that gives each client individual attention and enjoys telling brand stories. For a UK company arriving in Malta, a property owner promoting a development, or a Maltese organisation that needs a clearer public face, that means dealing with the people who do the work.

Who runs the studio

The team has more than twenty years of combined industry experience, spanning brand conceptualisation, social media campaigns, web development, editorial design and content. Gabriel Bajada is the founder and creative lead. A multi-disciplinary graphic designer from Malta, he began in branding, advertising campaigns and editorial design for print, then moved into web development as digital media grew. He has specialised in branding, campaigns, editorial design, user experience and interface design, and WordPress development, and since 2014 he has designed and built custom, responsive websites that clients can update themselves.

Luca Said is Head of Digital Strategy. He has worked in marketing since 2014 and has supported brands in real estate, food and drink, gaming, hospitality and interiors. Together they pair design craft with a strategic approach that looks at consumer behaviour, market detail and competitors before a campaign is shaped, so the finished work is more than surface decoration.

Creative, branding and print

Creative services cover creative direction, art direction, campaign design, editorial design, social content, packaging, point of sale design, photography, illustration, copywriting, animation and video and reels production. Branding covers naming, brand development, identity, logo creation, brand guidelines, tone of voice and even audio branding, whether you are launching a start-up or refreshing an established name.

Print and outdoor work is a real strength. For RE/MAX Malta, the studio rolled out the new global identity locally and built the office logo from the brand guidelines, the full set of printed collateral including roll-up banners and feather flags, and a separate mark for the exclusive properties portfolio. It then developed the 2026 Guiding You Home campaign across social templates and ads, billboards, street panels and a bus wrap. Websites, apps and digital marketing

The web and mobile side of the studio handles user journeys, interface and experience design, website design, WordPress development, eCommerce and PHP development. Recent websites include an online portfolio for Borg Bonaci Architecture, a language-learning app site for Lingvist, a course catalogue for a Berlin ceramics studio, and a site for Santa Lucia FC, a football club from southern Malta.

Digital marketing covers social media strategy and marketing, search engine marketing and optimisation, email and content marketing, customer relationship management, public relations, media planning and media buying. Consultancy and organisational work

Before any design starts, the consultancy service helps businesses decide on direction. It covers brand strategy, digital strategy, website and user experience audits, marketing strategy, campaign planning, conversion optimisation and technology and platform advice.

The portfolio also shows work for public bodies and larger institutions. The studio designed and built a digital-only annual report for Arts Council Malta in English and Maltese. Other organisations in its creative portfolio include the Malta Statistics Authority, MCAST, the MGA, the Malta Housing Authority and APS Bank, whose annual report it designed, so anyone exploring financial services in Malta will recognise familiar names. Hospitality, retail and lifestyle brands

The studio has built brands for hospitality and retail. For Antoine M Holdings, working with the consultancy Sette, it created a master identity for A+ Hotel in St Julian's, with a single mark, one typographic voice and a dark blue anchor, designed so that further properties such as A+ Suites can join without a redesign.
