Mvintage Valletta is the capital's shop for Mvintage, a Maltese jewellery and accessories brand, at 146 St Lucia's Street in Valletta. It sells heritage jewellery, sunglasses designed in Malta, handbags, scarves and gifts. Enquiries go through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page.

Mvintage Valletta is the brand's address in Malta's capital, on St Lucia's Street inside the walled city. For a UK traveller on a day in the city, it is a chance to buy jewellery or an accessory that comes from Malta and refers to Maltese history, rather than a souvenir that could come from anywhere. The shop is listed in our directory of jewellery shops in Malta.

The brand behind the shop

Krystle Penza founded Mvintage in 2011. She wanted a Maltese label that treated the island's identity as something to wear daily, and the brand has grown into a community built around women's confidence. The Kavallieri collection builds on the Munita, Il-Ħabbata and the Maltese Cross, symbols that run through the architecture of Valletta itself. Our Knights of Malta history page gives context for the cross, and the guide to Valletta shows how the city is laid out.

A fifth Women of the Year event is announced for 2026, which gives a sense of how far the label has grown. Customers can also join a rewards scheme that earns points with each purchase, and new subscribers to the brand's emails receive 10% off a first purchase.

Sunglasses, bags and scarves

Valletta is a good place to look at the brand's accessories. The sunglasses come in five styles, each named for one of five historic places around Malta and Gozo. They have polarised lenses, category 3 UV protection, and frames in stainless steel and acetate, and are supplied with a velvet hardshell case, a pouch and a cloth. A bright day on the bastions makes the case for them, and our monthly Malta weather guide tells you when the glare is strongest.

Leather handbags include the Lion Habbatta, the Twist and a signature tote, with gold metal details. Care advice is simple: wipe with a dry cloth, keep away from water and perfume, stuff with tissue paper and store in a dust bag. Silk scarves carry large Maltese cross prints, wallets are decorated with the same emblem, and jewellery boxes complete the range.

Jewellery by type

Pendants, necklaces and chains are the strongest category, then earrings in studs, hoops and danglers, bangles, cuffs, charms and rings. Birthstone designs let you match a month to a gift, and pearl pieces are light and versatile. The jewellery uses 316L stainless steel with gold or rose gold plating and comes with a 12-month warranty, so it is meant to be worn rather than kept in a box.

Changed your mind? Unused items can be returned for a refund within 15 days or exchanged within 30 days, apart from earrings, engraved pieces and sale items. Return postage is paid by the customer unless the item arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect. Orders arrive in a branded box, single pendants in a pouch, and extra gift boxes can be added.

Pieces that can be engraved include pendants and bracelets, and engraving on personalised gifts is free. A visit to the shop pairs naturally with sights such as St John's Co-Cathedral and the viewpoint at the Upper Barrakka Gardens, both inside the walled city.
