Myoka Spa at Hilton Malta is a hotel spa at Portomaso in St Julian's, with a Royal Hammam, a Japanese Head Spa suite, a private couples suite and hydrotherapy baths. It offers massages, body rituals, facials, anti-age treatments and med-aesthetics, and is open from 10am to 7pm every day. You can contact the spa through the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page.

Myoka Spa at Hilton Malta is a hotel spa on the Portomaso peninsula in St Julian's, in one of Malta's most exclusive leisure destinations. It is built around a quiet, treatment led experience: a Royal Hammam, a Japanese Head Spa suite, a private couples suite, hydrotherapy baths and a sunlit solarium. The idea is that time slows down once you step inside.

For a UK visitor the spa works as a half day or full day escape, with massages, rituals, facials and packages that include use of the pool and relaxation areas, and the menu also covers pool day packages and a couples collection. Myoka runs spas in several Maltese hotels, and this page is about the Hilton location in St Julian's.

The spa and its facilities

Beyond the treatment rooms, Myoka guests at the Hilton have complimentary access to the LivingWell Health Club facilities. These include a heated indoor pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a steam room, a spa garden and a relaxation lounge. Packages usually add a set period of access, often two hours, so it is worth checking what your chosen treatment includes.

The Royal Hammam is the signature space, a steam based ritual. The private couples suite is designed for two, and the hydrotherapy baths use water and minerals to ease the body. On the day of your appointment you can also buy a day pass for a guest of your choice at half price, which is handy if a friend wants to use the facilities without a treatment.

Many packages come with a drink, either Prosecco or herbal tea, and two hours of free parking, which matters in a busy part of St Julian's. If you are comparing other spas on the island, our spas directory for Malta and the Athenaeum Spa at Corinthia page are useful starting points.

Massages, rituals and spa journeys

The treatment menu is grouped by mood and purpose, from mindfulness and grounding to energy healing, pain relief and detox, with Ayurvedic and Dead Sea mud treatments alongside. A custom treatment lets the therapist tailor the session to your body on the day.

The Hammam Ritual combines a steam session with access to the sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, heated pool and relaxation lounge. Seasonal rituals at the Hilton change through the year. One autumn programme paired a 20 minute hammam with a hot stone back, neck and shoulder massage, plus foot and leg work and head pressure point therapy over 75 minutes. Another used radio frequency microneedling with a hand treatment over 55 minutes, and a third, an Ayurvedic ritual, ran for 85 minutes with warm herbal poultices, Indian head massage and reflexology.

The Maltese Retreat takes its cue from the island: a welcome ritual, a scrub made with Maltese salt, a massage of the whole body using local olive oil, and a face mask of prickly pear extract. Drinks, including herbal tea or Prosecco, and two hours in the spa facilities complete it. It is offered at a special price of €135 on Monday to Thursday and only at the Hilton spa.

The Luxe Renewal is an 85 minute treatment with a customised full body massage, hot stones on the back, a mini facial with a collagen mask, red light therapy on the face and a pressure point head and foot massage. An optional lunch at Vista Restaurant can be added for €17.50.

Japanese Head Spa

The Japanese Head Spa has its own suite at the Hilton and is one of the spa's newest highlights. It is a ritual aimed at cleansing the scalp, improving the health of hair and deeply relaxing the whole body. The steps include a cleansing shampoo ritual, a conditioning soap massage, a hair and scalp mask, a Gua-Sha face massage, décolleté, neck, shoulder and hand massages, and a mineralising Dead Sea mud face mask.

The head spa comes with a welcome drink, use of the relaxation lounge, two hours in the spa facilities including the indoor heated pool, sauna, steam and Jacuzzi, and two hours of free parking. A special version adds a professional blow-dry by the Toni&Guy team, so you can leave with your hair styled as well as soothed.

Facials, skin tightening and med-aesthetics

Facials range from holistic options named Hydrate, Purify, Rejuvenate and Radiance CBD, to Biologique Recherche face and body treatments based on a skin analysis, and advanced anti-age treatments. The New Age Facial, a bespoke session that follows a detailed consultation, runs for 85 minutes at €180 or 120 minutes at €220.

A complimentary 20 minute 3D skin analysis uses high resolution imaging to look at dehydration, fine lines, pigmentation, pore size and sun damage, and the therapist then recommends a plan. Other treatments include a cryotherapy facial with face lifting massage, HIFU facelift, radio frequency, microneedling, microdermabrasion and Legenda skin tightening, which is sold as a course of sessions. Cold radio frequency is offered for the face and body: on the face it is aimed at firming and smoothing, and on the body at contouring and skin firming. The HIFU facelift is described as a non-surgical lift with no downtime, so you can return to your day straight after a session. Legenda sessions come in 55, 85 and 120 minute lengths, with a complimentary face analysis when you book the treatment.

Med-aesthetics are led by a visiting aesthetic doctor and include Botox, dermal fillers, red light therapy and IV therapies, and laser hair removal is also listed on the Hilton menu. A free consultation is available. Ask the spa about any medical question when you book.

Booking, policies and gift vouchers

The full price is taken when you reserve, and the spa accepts cash, cheques and major credit cards. Aim to be there a quarter of an hour ahead, which leaves time to get changed and talk through your needs with the therapist. A day's notice is needed for changes, otherwise half the price is taken, and the same applies to missed appointments.

Recent surgery within half a year, any health condition or pregnancy should be mentioned at the time of booking, so that the therapists can adjust what they do. Gift vouchers can be bought in exchange for any treatment or a full or half day programme, and any Myoka spa will accept them. Vouchers cannot be refunded and have to be handed over when you book. A wellness membership, corporate packages and spa events are also on the menu, and there are Start Week Escapes with seasonal packages on Monday to Thursday, plus couples specials for celebrations.

Myoka operates from other Maltese hotels, including the Marriott in St Julian's, a resort at Golden Bay, the DoubleTree in Qawra, a spa at Salina and a by appointment spa in Valletta. If you are choosing where to stay, see our guides to hotels in Sliema and St Julian's, hotels in Qawra and hotels in Valletta, plus our where to stay in Malta overview.

Planning a spa visit to Malta

Whenever you visit, a warm hammam ritual or a hot stone massage makes a good counterpoint to a day of sightseeing. Our Malta weather guide shows what to expect in each month, and the Valletta guide covers the capital, which is close to St Julian's. Spa guests who add a facial or a body ritual to a Hammam Ritual can combine relaxation with skincare in a single visit, which suits a short UK break.

To ask about a treatment, a package or a voucher, use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to Myoka Spa at Hilton Malta.
