The Professionals is a Maltese flooring and decking company trading from a showroom in Qormi, a town in the middle of the island between Valletta and Mdina. Its trading company is Westwood Co Ltd, and it has more than 25 years of experience supplying and fitting parquet, vinyl, laminate and decking in homes and offices.
On VisitMalta.co.uk the business appears in our directory of builders in Malta. It is a useful stop if you are finishing or renovating a property and want one team to supply and install the floors. The business stresses quality over quantity, and its commitment continues after fitting, with post-sales support so that flooring and decking projects meet the client's satisfaction. For overseas owners, that after-sales promise is a helpful reassurance when you cannot be on site every week.
Flooring options
SPC vinyl click flooring combines stone polymer composite with a click-lock fit, giving a stylish, moisture-resistant floor that is quick to lay and a practical choice for kitchens, hallways and rental properties. Laminate parquet gives the look of real wood parquet at a lower cost, with easy maintenance for any room at home or in the office, so it is popular where a budget matters.
Hardwood engineered parquet joins the beauty of natural hardwood with the stability of engineered construction. Wood and WPC decking suits terraces, roofs and gardens, and the Maltese climate makes outdoor floors a common request; our Malta weather guide shows how strong the sun gets.
The range is completed by parquet and decking accessories such as trims, mouldings and underlays, with flooring oils, lacquers and treatments.
Feature walls and floor restoration
Wooden and acoustic feature walls make a focal point in a room by combining materials, textures and colours, with the added benefit of sound absorption, which is handy in open-plan flats where noise carries across hard floors and stone walls. Existing floors can also be revived: the team offers restoration, sanding, oiling and varnishing so that tired boards look like new.
For anyone buying a flat or townhouse in the capital city of Valletta or the old streets around the walled town of Mdina, floor restoration can be a good alternative to replacement. It keeps the character of the existing boards, avoids the cost and waste of ripping them out, and finishes the job with a protective oil or varnish chosen to suit how the room is used.
How it works and what to expect
The process has three steps: request a free quote, let the work begin, then rely on after-sales service. Free on-site surveys and quotations are available by appointment. A binding quotation follows an on-site examination of the premises, and quotations based on client measurements are approximate. Quotations are valid for 30 days, and payment terms are a 50 percent deposit with the balance on delivery.
The business can install every product it sells and gives a tailor-made quote for installation, so a single visit can cover measuring, supply and fitting. Goods can be collected free from the Qormi showroom, and orders worth more than €200 qualify for free delivery to ground level in front of the door. If you are moving from the UK, see our guide to relocating to Malta.
