TipTop Sports

TipTop Sports is a fitness and sports equipment company based in Fgura, in the south east of Malta, with more than 40 years in the fitness sector. It was the first local company to bring fitness goods to the Maltese market, and it now sells to individuals, gyms, hotels, offices and sports clubs on both Malta and Gozo.

The company runs a public showroom, a web shop, a commercial projects department and a service team for after-sales care. It appears in the sports shops in Malta directory on VisitMalta.co.uk, and we pass enquiries from UK readers directly to the business. Whether you are relocating and setting up a home gym, or a UK operator fitting out a hotel or studio on the islands, the range covers both ends.

Who TipTop Sports is

The mission is to help people improve their health and build self-confidence by offering a wide choice from reliable names in exercise equipment, at prices as accessible as possible. The company calls itself the First Name in Fitness for Malta, and builds on a culture rooted in customer care, with staff who know the products and are ready to advise on a purchase or on equipment you already own.

TipTop Sports acts as brand ambassador for names such as Nike, Xterra, Matrix, Bowflex, Spirit Fitness and Sole, and the online catalogue also lists Toorx, Body Solid and Garlando. Behind the sales floor sit logistics and distribution departments, which allow rapid delivery to site. The company has grown on both islands over four decades. Sales and customer service teams stay in touch after the sale, and a service department handles repairs and maintenance questions.

Equipment for home and personal training

For individuals the range runs from a first yoga mat to a complete home gym. Cardio equipment includes treadmills such as the OMA PFS Slim, currently shown at €299.00 on offer, as well as benches, weights and attachments. A 30Kg dumbbell set is €69.99, and a Toorx multi-fit bench with leg extension is €299.00 on offer. Smaller items include dip belts, leather lifting belts, rubber bars and sauna suits.

The shop also covers boxing and combat sports, with gloves, hand wraps, protective gear, punching bags and coaching equipment, and a section of fitness accessories such as watches and pedometers, slimming wear and gym balls. Foam body rollers, massage balls and sticks, balance boards and muscle stimulators sit in a medical and physio category. Those are products for sale; for questions about injuries or treatment, speak to a qualified professional.

Different training styles are catered for. Mixed martial arts, basketball and weight training call for punching bags, sparring gear and free weights, while gentler routines such as yoga and walking suit exercise balls, foam rollers and light weights. Beginners are as welcome as experienced athletes, and active games such as table tennis and air hockey offer a lively alternative to sitting in front of a screen.

Families are not forgotten. Outdoor play and nursery equipment includes swings, scooters, skateboards, goal posts, basketball rings and ride-ons, while a mini trampoline such as the Enjoy Play 32 inch model is €39.99 on offer. Games tables include table soccer, table tennis, air hockey, pool and multi-game tables, such as a Garlando multi games table at €599.00 on offer.

Commercial projects and fit-outs

The commercial department designs gyms for businesses. It works in six steps: discussing your vision, proposing solutions to suit your space and budget, designing the project, providing a 2D or 3D visualisation of how the equipment will sit, delivering and installing it, and following up through the service centre. The commercial ranges cover Spirit, Toorx Professional Line and Body Solid commercial ranges, and Matrix appears in the project descriptions.

Projects named on the site include the APS Bank corporate wellness facility, the Mapfre corporate fitness space, a guest fitness project at the Qawra Palace Hotel, work at The Phoenicia and Palazzo Hotel Valletta, Qormi Fitness Zone, Mqabba Football Club and AH Company. The Phoenicia project uses Matrix equipment with large touchscreens and Virtual Active routes, so guests can exercise along scenic virtual courses.

If you are choosing where to stay, our guides to hotels in Qawra and St Paul's Bay and hotels in Valletta will help, and hotel gym facilities are often a point to check. Hotel and resort owners considering a wellness refresh can discuss a project through the enquiry form on this page.

Equipment for businesses and facilities

Businesses are a major customer group. Coaches and specialised training facilities can buy coaching equipment for sports such as running, mixed martial arts and weightlifting. Physical trainers and therapists can find fat calipers, massage tables and similar items, and gyms can fit out with durable equipment backed by manufacturer support and the local service team.

Corporate offices can add a workout space for staff, and hotels and residential accommodation can add a gym for guests. The advantage of buying through one supplier is simple: you keep one set of warranty records and one point of contact for maintenance and spare parts, instead of juggling several companies and invoices as a business might when sourcing from many places.

Service, delivery and vouchers

Delivery is free for web orders over €25, and a €3.50 fee applies to orders under €25. Gift vouchers are sold in values from €5.00 to €50.00, which suits a gift for a friend who lives in Malta. A Gozo agent at the Abela Health Centre in Rabat serves customers on the sister island, as covered in our Gozo guide.

After-sales has its own team and opening hours. The service department deals with equipment you have bought from the company, and the aim is to avoid the confusion of several suppliers and warranties by keeping equipment, delivery, installation and follow-up under one roof.

Visiting the Fgura showroom

Fgura sits close to the Three Cities and the harbour area, so a visit can be combined with the Three Cities guide and the Neolithic Hypogeum at Ħal Saflieni in nearby Paola. Parking and public transport details are not published, so check before travelling by contacting the team.

Treadmills form a large part of the online catalogue, from compact folding models to larger machines with colour screens, and the shop also lists items such as the Toorx rubber biceps bar at €33.00, the Toorx overload dip belt at €29.99 and a 56 kilogram weight set offer at €59.99. Prices change with promotions, so confirm the current figure when you enquire. Many products have two or more photographs on the product page, and a search box helps you find a particular item by name.

The showroom, the sales office and the service department each keep their own hours, so it helps to tell us in your enquiry which one you need. If you are buying from the UK for a property in Malta or Gozo, mention the delivery address so the team can confirm timing and installation. Commercial buyers should include room size, budget and the type of users, since the design stage starts from those details.

Summer heat is a good reason to train indoors, as the Malta weather guide explains. People planning a longer stay can read the Malta relocation guide, while the things to do in Malta page gives ideas for days away from the gym.

How to enquire

Use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to TipTop Sports. Say what you need, whether a single product, a family play area or a full commercial fit-out, and the team will reply to you directly. The business does not print a price list for projects, since each one depends on space and budget.
