Vincent's Eco Estate is a fully certified organic farm at Żebbieħ in Mġarr, in the north-west of Malta, with an estate shop, an olive garden and a natural park used for events. Vincent's Eco Estate is a working organic farm in the countryside of Mġarr, on the north-west side of Malta, and it is open to visitors as well as to customers who order produce for delivery. The estate is fully certified organic and grows a range of vegetables, and it also makes processed vegetarian products such as olive oil and conserves. It is a good stop for anyone who wants to buy food directly from the people who grow it, or to see a different side of the island away from the beaches.

The farm is listed in our directory of organic food in Malta and our directory of activity centres in Malta, because it combines a shop with outdoor space for groups, schools and events.

The farm and its story

The estate builds on years of sustainable farming and the legacy of the late Vincent Camilleri, and it is now cared for by the proprietor, Gloria Camilleri. It keeps a long-term plan for self-sustainability, and it works to address problems that affect Maltese land, such as soil erosion and salty water tables. It also offers opportunities to start-up micro-agribusinesses.

The land lies close to the Skorba Temples, a prehistoric site excavated in the early 1960s and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The estate's Red Goddess collection of gourmet foods takes its inspiration from the red ochre clay found in the temples' red shrine, and includes olive oil, syrups, dips, sauces, jams, preserves, salts, herbs and drinks. If you enjoy temples, our Ħaġar Qim temples page covers another ancient site on the island.

The estate shop and home delivery

The Eco Kiosk, known as O-Veg, sells fresh organic produce from the plantation alongside healthy products and condiments, and it is found at the front of the farm. The online shop lists more than 300 items, including local and imported fruit and vegetables, organic boxes, books, body care, fermented foods, drinks, flour, snacks, herbal products, sauces and jams, supplements, and tea and coffee.

Prices shown include the Farm to Fork box of 7kg at €20.00, local organic olive oil at €9.25 for 250ml, coarse pink Himalayan salt at €2.65, Rummiena soda at €1.90 and a local flower bouquet at €15.00. Local beetroot ranges from €1.50 to €3.00 depending on weight. Orders must be in by 4pm on Tuesday, with deliveries on Thursdays to both Malta and Gozo. Stock changes by season, so confirm availability with the estate.

Events, tours and outdoor space

The Vortex is a natural park beneath ancient trees that promotes outdoor recreation, and it is used for outdoor parties, events, quiet retreats and teambuilding. It also hosts the Vortex Festival, a weekend gathering in nature. The estate's olive garden provides the extra virgin olive oil from its old olive trees. Groups and students can ask for farm tours and tastings that explain how organic farming works, and the estate takes bookings for school outings and for teambuilding and corporate events. The Skorba farmhouse and its terraced gardens can be used for private functions.

Combine a visit with other things to do in the north-west. Children's activities at Adventure Hub are a short drive away, and Golden Bay is the nearest big beach. Our Mellieħa guide, things to do in Malta and Mdina guide help you fill the rest of the day, while photography by AldoPics can record an event, and the Gozo guide is useful for readers who order delivery to the sister island.

Getting in touch

The estate does not publish a detailed price list for events, so ask for the details you need. Use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page, say whether you are interested in the shop, a delivery, a tour or an event, and we will pass your message to Vincent's Eco Estate, who will reply to you directly.
