DoubleTree by Hilton Malta opened in 2024 as Hilton's first-ever property on the island, a 485-room beachfront resort directly on St Paul's Bay in Qawra, part of DoubleTree's global portfolio of over 680 hotels. It's a large-scale, modern resort rather than a boutique property — built for families, weddings, and groups as much as couples, with four pools, five separate dining venues, and a dedicated spa across the site.

One genuinely unusual feature: the Buġibba Ancient Temple, a Neolithic archaeological site dating back thousands of years, sits directly on the hotel grounds — a rare case of a modern beachfront resort built alongside one of Malta's prehistoric monuments.

The hotel offers 13+ room categories across its 485 rooms, from the King Guest Room with Sea View through to the One Bedroom Suite with Sea View and spacious family-style rooms with separate living areas and multiple bedrooms. The King Superior Room with Sea View and Sofabed sleeps up to three, suited to families or groups travelling together.

Rooms feature optional sea views and balconies, air conditioning, and DoubleTree's signature amenities. Guests checking in are welcomed with the brand's signature warm chocolate chip cookie, baked fresh daily, with an allergy-friendly version also available.

The hotel runs five separate dining and bar venues. Sabi House functions as the beach club's own restaurant, putting a dining table right down by the water alongside a cocktail menu built specifically for that setting. Azure Restaurant & Terrace and Carvv Restaurant & Enoteca (an Italian-style wine bar and restaurant) provide the hotel's principal evening dining, while Ombré Café Bistro covers all-day casual dining, and Juniper Lounge Bar serves drinks throughout the day and evening. Buffet and à la carte options focus on Mediterranean flavours with international influences.

Leisure facilities include four pools across the property: two seasonal outdoor pools with a sundeck overlooking St Paul's Bay, one heated pool available year-round, and a further indoor pool with jet seats inside Myoka Spa. A private Sabi Beach Club, including two infinity pools and direct beach access, is a further phase of the property. A Kids' Club and both family-friendly and adults-only pool areas are available.

Myoka Spa opened at the hotel in June 2024, operated by the Myoka spa brand. The spa's facility list runs to a private couples' suite with its own bath, a Japanese Head Spa suite, and a Vichy shower suite, alongside a heated indoor pool fitted with jet seats, a separate whirlpool tub, steam room, and relaxation lounge for winding down afterward. The spa is open daily from 9am to 7pm, offering treatments from massages and facials to reflexology, along with dedicated couples' packages.

DoubleTree by Hilton Malta sits directly on the St Paul's Bay seafront in Qawra, just 220 metres from the Bugibba Bus Terminal, giving straightforward bus connections to Valletta and across the island. The hotel is approximately 15km from Malta International Airport, roughly a 25-minute drive.

The hotel is well positioned for exploring Malta's north, with Bugibba's promenade a short walk away, and Valletta, Mdina, and the UNESCO-listed Megalithic Temples all within easy reach by car or taxi. On-site self-parking is available for €5 per day.
