Cavlamer

Cavlamer is a luxury skincare brand built around caviar extract, and its Sliema clinic is where the products are put to work in professional facials and light-based skin treatments. The treatment rooms are on the fourth floor of a building on Tower Road, close to the seafront promenade, while the brand's shop sits on Republic Street, the main thoroughfare of Valletta.

Silver, Gold and Platinum treatments

Treatments are arranged in three levels. The Silver treatment lasts 60 minutes and combines a classic cleanse with red light therapy, with a choice of focus: anti-ageing, the under-eye area or neck tightening. The Gold treatment runs for 75 minutes with a deeper cleanse and LED light therapy, and can be tailored as a 24k gold collagen mask anti-ageing session, a hydrafacial with a mud mask suited to dry skin, a nourishing thermal mask, a rejuvenation treatment or a pigmentation treatment.

The 90-minute Platinum therapy is the most advanced. It is a non-surgical, minimally invasive facial rejuvenation that uses energy-based soft tissue tightening by laser or radiofrequency, and it brings together the gold collagen mask, hydrafacial, under-eye work for eye bags, neck tightening and pigmentation care in a single session.

LED light therapy and classic facials

LED light therapy is central to the clinic's work. Its own Cavlamer LED face mask is designed for tired and ageing skin, aiming to soften lines and wrinkles and boost circulation, and therapists pair it with creams, ointments and facials rather than using it alone. The clinic also carries out hydradermabrasion.

A regular facial follows five steps: a deep cleanse with steam to open the pores, gentle exfoliation, a relaxing massage to encourage circulation and lymphatic drainage, a hydrating or purifying mask chosen for your skin, and a finish of moisturiser and SPF. Oily, dry, combination and sensitive skin are all catered for, and if you are unsure which option suits you, a consultation with one of the specialists is offered before you start.

The brand's founder chose caviar for its regenerating qualities, and every product uses it as the main base, alongside selected high-tech actives. The formulas come from a laboratory on the Spanish Riviera, where scientists work on fresh cellular extracts, peptide technology and advanced delivery systems.
