Cloudberry Active is a friendly movement studio in Attard, a central village a short drive from Valletta, Mdina and the main roads out to the north of the island. The studio was founded on the idea that wellness is for everyone, and its classes are pitched at people of all ages, levels and body types, from complete beginners to those returning after a break. If you are weighing up studios, you will find others in our directory of Pilates studios in Malta, and the studio's Attard base is easy to reach from many parts of the island.
The timetable mixes Pilates, yoga and Dance Fit, taught in a calm, small-group setting rather than a large gym floor. For UK residents who have moved to Malta, or regulars who spend several months here each year, a studio with termly places can be a good way to build a routine and meet people. Our Malta relocation guide covers the wider practicalities of settling in.
Meet the founder and the teaching team
Cloudberry Active was started by Sue Vassallo, who is both founder and lead instructor. Sue has taught as a qualified dance teacher for more than 20 years. Her route into Pilates began after a series of dance injuries, when physiotherapists encouraged her to try it as a way to recover and prevent further problems. That experience shaped the studio: Sue is known for breaking complex movements into clear, simple steps, and she holds ISTD (DDI) and APPI mat work qualifications.
She leads a team of instructors with varied backgrounds. Ella Spiteri is a former professional dancer who trained and performed across Europe and now teaches Pilates. Kyra Poland teaches Pilates and also holds a CYQ gym instructor and personal trainer qualification. Nicole Zammit teaches Pilates with a fitness instructor qualification and training in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. Nia Mangion, a Welsh yoga teacher, holds a Vinyasa Yoga qualification from Yoga Alliance, and Becky Grech combines dance with movement therapy in her Dance Fit sessions.
Classes at Cloudberry Active
Pilates is the heart of the timetable. Most of the Pilates teachers hold APPI mat work qualifications, so classes focus on controlled floor work that builds strength, flexibility and body awareness. Alongside Pilates there are yoga classes and Dance Fit, a session led by Becky Grech that blends dance with movement therapy. The studio describes its approach as mindful, with the mind-body connection at the centre of every class.
The weekly timetable and class descriptions are on the studio's booking system. Term packages and drop-in prices
Autumn 2026 places are sold as termly packages. One class a week costs €126.50 for the term, which works out at €11.50 a class. Two classes a week cost €231.00 for the term, or €10.50 a class, and three classes a week cost €313.50, or €9.50 a class. Each package gives you a secure weekly spot for the full term, with the option to switch a class if something comes up. If you join part-way through the term, you only pay for the classes that remain.
A single drop-in class costs €15.00, with no commitment, so you can try a session and then decide whether to take a term place. New clients are asked to contact the studio to register before booking. If you are still choosing between studios, other wellness options are listed in our guide to Malta holidays for visitors planning a longer stay.
