Flex+ is the fitness and well-being studio of Mediatrix, a Maltese health and beauty group with a centre at 10 Guze Duca Street in Qormi. The studio offers small-group Pilates, yoga and Body Ballet classes, one-to-one sessions, therapeutic massages, wellness workshops and a hireable studio space. Qormi is a town close to the centre of the island, a short drive from Valletta, which makes the studio practical for residents and for visitors on longer stays.
Flex+ is listed in our directories of Pilates studios in Malta, yoga studios in Malta and gyms in Malta. The aim is to help you move better, feel stronger and live healthier, with certified trainers leading sessions tailored to your fitness level, all equipment provided and all levels welcome.
The Flex+ studio and how classes work
The studio is fully air conditioned and fitted with a sound system, and its floor-to-ceiling windows give it plenty of daylight. Shelves along the wall hold balls, blocks, rollers and other equipment, so you do not need to bring your own kit. Group sizes are kept small for personalised attention, and convenient class packages are available.
Details and bookings run through a mobile app, available on iOS and Android, where you register an account and book your sessions. The site does not publish a timetable or class prices, so ask for current times and package costs.
Pilates and yoga with Arianna
Pilates classes are designed to improve core strength, flexibility, posture and balance while building body awareness. The classes are led with a physiotherapist's input and exercises are tailored to your level, whether you are a beginner or more advanced. The studio lists enhanced core stability, better posture and alignment, greater flexibility and mobility, and injury prevention among the benefits.
Beginners yoga classes focus on breathwork, flexibility and mindfulness, building a foundation for newcomers. One-to-one Pilates and yoga sessions are fully tailored, whether you are working on recovery, a specific goal or focused training at your own pace. Small private group packages let friends or colleagues train together, and the studio also pitches them as a team-building activity for offices.
The lead instructor is Arianna Debono, a physiotherapist who qualified at the University of Malta in 2017. She is an APPI-certified Pilates instructor who completed her Pilates matwork course in 2018, and a Yoga Alliance certified teacher after completing 200 hours of training in 2024. Her early training in dance and ballet shaped her interest in movement. Juanita Vella Grech also teaches Pilates, with a Master's in Sports and Exercise Medicine from University College London and a focus on musculoskeletal and sports injuries. This page gives no medical advice, so speak to a professional about your own health.
Hatha and Yin yoga with Giulia
Giulia teaches two contrasting styles. Hatha Yoga is a gentle practice that balances mind and body through postures and breathwork, suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners, and it focuses on strength, flexibility and mindfulness.
Yin Yoga is very slow and restorative, working on the body's connective tissues. Every posture is seated or lying down and held for around five minutes. The studio suggests it for people who want to slow down, release tension, improve mobility or gain deeper flexibility, and it emphasises stillness, relaxation and mindfulness.
Body Ballet with Fran
Body Ballet is a ballet-inspired class that combines barre work and Pilates. It aims to improve posture, flexibility and strength, and to help you move with ease and improve balance. No experience is needed, only a willingness to move, so it suits people returning to dance as well as complete newcomers.
The class is taught by Fran Kövessi, who is also a certified Brain Coach and Nutrition Coach. She trained at several international ballet schools, is studying for an MA in Dance at the University of Malta and was a dancer with the Hungarian Opera in Cluj. The studio's image gallery shows Body Ballet sessions for adults, teens and mobility and flow, although the class descriptions give no further detail.
Therapeutic massages and prices
Flex+ and Mediatrix Health and Beauty offer a menu of therapeutic massages alongside the classes. Lymphatic Flow lasts 60 minutes and costs €60. Radiance Ritual, a head and face massage, lasts 25 minutes and costs €35. Tension Melt lasts 35 minutes and costs €40, and Indian Head Massage lasts 30 minutes and costs €35.
Essence of Ayurveda lasts 90 minutes and costs €100. CBD Luxe Release, a deep tissue style massage, lasts 55 minutes at €70 or 85 minutes at €95. Prenatal Peace lasts 75 minutes and costs €70, and Couple's Escape lasts 60 minutes and costs €110, with two therapists working side by side and a choice of male or female therapist.
The menu cards describe each treatment. Lymphatic Flow is a gentle massage aimed at encouraging lymph flow and leaving you feeling lighter. Radiance Ritual is a short head and face session for slowing down and clearing the mind. Tension Melt is aimed at tight backs, shoulders and necks after long hours at a desk or heavy lifting, and the therapist has a quick chat with you first so the massage can be tailored. Indian Head Massage works on the upper back, shoulders, head and face with slow, rhythmic movements.
Essence of Ayurveda is a traditional massage using warm oils and gentle, flowing strokes rather than deep pressure. CBD Luxe Release is a deep tissue treatment that works on the areas needing most attention. Prenatal Peace is a soothing massage for the back, feet, hands, head and face during pregnancy, and Couple's Escape gives two people side-by-side sessions with personal attention. These are relaxation treatments and the page gives no medical advice, so check with your own doctor if you are pregnant or have a health condition.
Feel and Heal workshops and studio hire
Feel and Heal combines physical and emotional wellness in a three-hour workshop with two exercise sessions and an interactive discussion between them. It is run by Arianna Debono and Carly Ciantar, a warranted Gestalt psychotherapist. The wider team also includes Martine Waltier, a breathwork and kundalini yoga teacher who is also a professional musician.
The studio can be rented for fitness or dance classes or for exercise among friends. It is air conditioned, has a sound system, and includes free wi-fi and toilet facilities.
Visiting and getting started
Flex+ sits within a wider group. Mediatrix describes itself as a growing business that brings health and beauty services together under one roof, and its enquiry options include physiotherapy, dental and implantology, podiatry, acupuncture, a pharmacy, beauty services and more. That means a visitor or resident can often arrange a class and another service in the same group, although each has its own details, so ask what is available at the Qormi centre.
Qormi lies between Valletta and the island's centre, so the studio is easy to reach from the capital and from most resort areas. Our Valletta city guide and things to do in Malta page will help you plan the rest of your day, and our Malta weather guide shows when an air-conditioned class is most welcome. Visitors can compare where to stay in Malta and check flights to Malta, while longer stays are covered in our Malta relocation guide.
To ask about classes, massages, workshops or studio hire, use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to the Flex+ team.
