DAAA Haus is a multidisciplinary interior design and architecture studio with its Malta office on J. P. Debono Street in Msida, alongside offices in Milan, Ragusa and Mumbai. It designs homes, restaurants, hotels, offices and retail spaces, and also creates furniture, lighting, branding and art projects. Enquiries go through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page and we will pass your message to the studio.

DAAA Haus is a design studio that starts from experience: how a room feels to live in, how a restaurant looks to a diner, how a brand is read in a shop. It works across interiors, architecture, products and branding, and its Malta office is in Msida, close to the harbour inlet between Valletta and Gżira. Sister offices in Milan, Ragusa and Mumbai give it a presence in three other countries.

On VisitMalta.co.uk it is listed among the architects in Malta and the interior designers in Malta, the two categories that best describe its work.

Who DAAA Haus are

The studio was founded by Keith Pillow, who is its creative director and has 20 years in business behind him. From that start, DAAA Haus has grown into a collective of more than 30 professionals, including architects, interior designers, product designers, branding and web specialists and an arts consultant. Design is treated as a lifestyle and a philosophy, and the aim is to create a legacy brand that anticipates what people will need, not just react to it.

The team is organised across its offices. Senior architects and partners lead DAAA Italia, while a lead architect heads DAAA Arkitectz and a lead interior architect heads DAAA Malta, with a studio manager and a team of senior and junior interior designers working in the Maltese office. In Mumbai an associate architect and interior designer represent the practice, and an international business development role links the offices. Finance, communications and e-commerce staff support the work.

Homes and residential interiors

Residential design is the first of the studio's three foundations. It covers everything from luxury villas to contemporary apartments, with interiors planned around how the owners actually live. Collaboration and customisation are central, so each detail, material and finish follows the client's own vision, whether that is a minimalist retreat or a warm, eclectic home. The portfolio includes villas, penthouses, townhouses and apartments in places such as Sliema, Swieqi, Tigné and Portomaso, as well as villas in Sicily.

For readers moving here after our Malta relocation guide, a studio that can take on a whole property, from architecture to loose furniture, is a convenient single point of contact. Remote workers who read our digital nomad guide and decide to settle may also want a home workspace designed with the same care as the living areas.

Commercial, hospitality and corporate design

The second foundation is commercial design, which the studio treats as a way of shaping brand identity, customer engagement and workplace culture. It works on offices, retail spaces, restaurants, hotels and corporate headquarters, looking at spatial flow, ergonomics, storytelling and the experience of the user. Its long project list includes restaurants and bars, a skypool, hotel interiors and fit-outs for offices and showrooms, and a Sunseeker yacht interior.

Companies arriving in Malta often need premises at the same time as they register. If you are working through our guide to the Malta corporate tax structure, or are choosing advisers such as CLA Malta, it is worth thinking early about the office you will occupy. Firms from the financial services sector and iGaming companies both need workplaces that attract staff, which is where a design studio with corporate experience can help.

Products, branding and art

The third foundation is product creation. DAAA Haus designs furniture, lighting and decor that fit the interiors it creates, working with skilled artisans and modern manufacturers. Collections on its site include carpet ranges such as Zig Zag and Convergence, lighting and furniture such as Bloom, Stonecutz, Trame and Dendel, and a wine rack. An online showroom shows the range, and the studio also offers a downloadable book of its work.

Branding is treated as the dress of every project. The studio builds the foundations of new brands and develops existing identities into experiences that reach customers through interiors, packaging and point-of-sale material. It also promotes art, bringing artists and entrepreneurs together and searching out new talent. If you need to work out how the cost of a project fits your wider plans, the Malta tax guide for UK nationals is a sensible read before you commit.

Working with the studio

The studio offers a complete design service that weighs lifestyle and culture, not only appearance, and that treats design as an investment whose return can be improved by good decisions. Residential clients can expect attention to the way a family lives, and commercial clients to the way a business operates.

The Malta office is on the first and second levels of the Park Heights Building on J. P. Debono Street in Msida. To start, use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page, say whether your project is a home, a business space or a product, and we will pass your message to DAAA Haus.
