Decades of Maltese floristry

George Borg handed the family business to his son, Ludgardo Borg, in the 1960s. Ludgardo built the first cluster of greenhouses on the Maltese islands, supplying leading florists across Malta and exporting flowers to Covent Garden in London. The company took the name Flower Land in 1981 under Joseph and Pauline Azzopardi, who introduced professional floral trade and the culture of floral design and arrangement to Malta.

Flower Land serves some of Malta's leading hotels and restaurants, conferences and meetings, weddings, private occasions, funerals, hospitals, private homes and many businesses, and is known for seasonal gifts and decorations at Christmas and Valentine's. For wedding work, the directory also lists event planners such as 242.group Malta offices.

What you can order

The online shop is organised by event: new born, birthday, thank you, romance, anniversary, I'm sorry, congratulations, get well, sympathy and funeral, corporate gift and celebrations. You can also browse by flower, such as roses, lilies, gerberas, carnations and orchids, by price band, or through collections such as Hat Box, Months of Flowers, Letters and Shapes and Mini-Weddings.

Florist's Choice bouquets let you set a budget, with options at €15.00, €25.00, €45.00, €100.00 and €200.00, and individual designs such as Precious Pink at €14.50 or Golden Charm at €75.00. Romantic gifts include a small Heart Box at €27.40 and a large Heart Box at €37.50. Plants include a Phalaenopsis orchid at €27.50, a Ficus bonsai at €29.60 and a large bonsai at €78.50, and some gift sets add drinks or soft toys. The shop also sells potted plants such as Zamioculcas and a raspberry plant, plus an agri products category, so it can cover the garden as well as the vase.

The Mini-Weddings collection is aimed at small ceremonies, while the Months of Flowers and Letters and Shapes collections let you choose designs for a birthday month or spell out a name or word in flowers.
