in2Pilates is a small, specialist Pilates room in Pembroke, a residential neighbourhood next to St Julian's. The studio has traded since 2020 and was founded by Ping Yang, a PAI Master Trainer. It concentrates on one method and keeps its groups deliberately small, so that every body in the room is watched and corrected by the instructor.

Ping Yang and the teaching team

Ping found Pilates after her first pregnancy, as a way to manage back pain and regain fitness. After more than a decade of corporate work in Singapore she left that career in 2014 to teach full time, then moved to Malta with her family and opened the studio in 2020. She holds PAI Master Trainer status from 2022, has more than 20 years of practice and personally leads every teacher training cohort the studio runs. She speaks Mandarin and Italian as well as English.

She works with a small team. Nicole is the rehabilitation specialist, with a physical therapy and orthopaedics background and over ten years of Pilates experience. Bianca is the spinal specialist, with a physiotherapy degree and more than ten years of teaching. Doa, a former marketing professional, teaches both group and private sessions. The studio sets out five principles: form before load, groups small enough to be seen, everyone starts with the Induction, breath is not optional, and building strength for a long life.

Classes and sessions on offer

Reformer group classes last one hour and are capped at five people per class. They are built on classical Pilates fundamentals with progressive choreography and suit a mixed-ability room. Private sessions are one hour, one to one, using the Reformer and mat, and the programme is adapted to you week by week.

Rehabilitation Pilates is a one-to-one hour designed around the limitations and goals of the person in front of the instructor. The studio works alongside your physiotherapist when needed and describes the sessions as referral-friendly. This page does not give medical advice, so speak to your own clinician about whether a programme is right for you. Pre and post-natal Pilates is offered one to one or as a duet, and focuses on pelvic floor awareness, deep core engagement, posture and breathing as the body changes.

The studio also runs a teacher training programme, and gift cards are available for any amount, delivered by email or printed at the studio. All classes are taught in English.

Group classes are then bought as single classes or packs. A single class is €35. A five-class pack costs €150, or €30 a class, and is valid for 45 days. A ten-class pack costs €250, or €25 a class, valid for 90 days and shareable with one household member. A twenty-class pack costs €450, valid for 150 days and the best value per class.
