Ivana Cattafi Photography, which also trades as IC Studio, is a Malta photography and video business run by the photographer Ivana Cattafi. About Ivana Cattafi

Ivana was born in 1991 and has been working as a photographer since 2012. She began by shooting nightlife events, then broadened into other kinds of photography as new fields caught her interest. Her portfolio now spans shoots for high-end venues in Malta and Sicily and work with several property brands.

What sets her approach apart is curiosity and a habit of continual learning, combined with a knack for directing people in front of the camera so they relax and look natural. During the Covid-19 pandemic she returned to her first love of photographing people, and since then a personal artistic practice exploring light, shadow and studio concepts has run alongside her commercial work.

iGaming, poker, conferences and headshots

Gaming industry photography is a particular strength. Ivana has covered the poker world for several years, bringing a range of viewpoints to each tournament or festival, and she has also photographed industry conferences such as a happy hour event during iGB Live in Amsterdam in 2023. Events and party photography

Event coverage is one of the most requested services, aimed at showing the atmosphere of a gathering so it looks inviting on social media and in press. The range takes in concerts, gala dinners, private parties and poker events. Real estate, hotel and holiday let photography

Property work is aimed at estate agents, developers, interior designers, architects, hotels and boutique accommodation, short-let hosts, property managers and private owners. With more than ten years of experience and over 200 projects across Malta, Gozo and Sicily, the studio shoots homes, rentals, hospitality venues and design-led spaces. Each shoot mixes wide-angle frames that open up a room, horizontal and vertical versions for social media, and detail shots of standout features.

Three fixed packages apply in central Malta, with prices that may change for other locations. Basic costs EUR 190 for 25 wide-angle interior and exterior shots, with about 50 minutes on site. Standard costs EUR 270 for 50 edited images, including detail shots of balconies, kitchens and design touches, over roughly one to one and a half hours. Premium costs EUR 360 for 70 images with lifestyle shots, a short 4K walkthrough video and optional twilight photography, over two to two and a half hours. Video can be added to any package from €250, larger or luxury homes are quoted individually, and removing unwanted items in Photoshop costs €18 per image.

Delivery is guaranteed within 72 hours of the shoot, with faster options on request. HDR technique balances bright windows against interiors so that sea and city views stay visible, a real asset in Malta. Interactive 3D virtual tours are also available, with a doll-house view, measured floor plans, room-to-room navigation and information tags.

Hotel projects include The Three Doors, photographed over two days, The Bear and Ween, and The Capital, a boutique property among the hotels in Valletta whose entire photographic content was produced by the studio in a single full-day shoot.

Flying dress photoshoots in Malta

A flying dress shoot puts you in a long, flowing gown that an assistant throws into the wind, creating dramatic stills and slow motion video against Malta's coast and old stone streets. It suits residents and holidaymakers alike, and many people book one as a gift for a partner or friend. There are eight dresses to choose from, including gold, royal blue, Barbie pink, red, petrol blue and emerald green, plus a black skirt and a white skirt for adults and children. Central locations include the Lower Barrakka Gardens and the waterfront in Valletta, Portomaso Marina in St Julian's, the rocky shore at Pembroke, Tigné Point in Sliema and the old streets of Birgu, which our Vittoriosa guide introduces. Northern settings carry an extra fee and are not offered with the Basic package: they include the old capital covered in our Mdina guide, the Riviera above Għajn Tuffieħa, Majjistral Park above the beach in our Golden Bay guide, and spots on Gozo. There are four packages. Basic is EUR 255 for one hour, one dress, over 30 edited pictures and one slow motion video. VIP, the bestseller, is EUR 375 for an hour and a half with over 50 pictures and three videos. Exclusive is EUR 595 for two hours, two dresses, over 80 pictures and five videos. Women Power is EUR 540 for two people shot together with two assistants, ideal for friends or a mother and daughter.

Sessions are timed for soft light, roughly two hours before sunset, so it is worth checking our Malta weather guide by month when choosing dates. A €50 deposit secures the booking and is refundable until five days before; the balance can be paid on the day or afterwards in cash, by bank transfer, Revolut or PayPal. Dresses adjust from XS to XL, and some fit up to XXXL. Every picture taken is sent within five working days.

Personal branding, family portraits and fine art

For individuals, the 9 Pics Bundle produces a set of styled images for Instagram, personal branding or a dating profile, with sample poses to help you feel at ease. Pregnancy and family sessions capture milestones, and the studio also lists services for life milestones, marketing and branding, an AI video studio and gift vouchers.

Ivana's fine art work explores femininity, emotion and light. Her In Her Light and In Her Moon collections are limited editions, printed to order on 300 g/m² fine art cotton paper, signed by hand and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
