L’Għarix Temple Retreat

L’Għarix Temple Retreat is a small healing sanctuary on the island of Gozo, set just steps from the Ġgantija Temples, among the oldest freestanding structures in the world. It is the base of Karin Laing, a transpersonal hypnotherapist, past life regression therapist, energy healer and intuitive counsellor who moved to Gozo from South Africa in 2018 and built the retreat as a place for deep inner work. The setting includes a private healing cave and an open-air studio.

Who Karin Laing is

For Karin this began as a calling that began more than twenty years ago, with a first experience of deep hypnotherapy. She trained in transpersonal hypnotherapy, past life regression, life between lives therapy, energy healing and intuitive counselling, and holds credentials from the International Association of Counselors and Therapists and the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association in the United States, plus the Past Life Therapists Association in the United Kingdom.

Her approach treats the whole person, mind, body and spirit, and combines clinical hypnotherapy with transpersonal and spiritual methods. She sees clients at the retreat, in Dubai and online, and works with people from many countries. Her wider offer also includes speaking engagements, workshops and corporate wellness programmes.

Private sessions on Gozo or online

Sessions are one-to-one and can be taken by video call or in person at the retreat. Most last two hours and cost €222, including hypnotherapy themed around anxiety and low mood, trauma healing, birth preparation, transpersonal hypnotherapy, past life regression, spiritual healing, a Meeting God session and a combined hypnotherapy and soul realignment session. A healing session for inner wounds around family and relationship patterns is also listed at €222.

Shorter 60-minute options include a Soul Discovery introduction at €111, which suits first-time clients, plus energy healing and intuitive counselling at €111 each. Sound healing at €97 is offered in person on Gozo only. The signature Life Between Lives spiritual regression runs for six hours and costs €697. Retreats and getting to Gozo

One-to-one retreats are tailored and run from one to six days on Gozo, with healing and integration support, starting from €597. The Intensive Private Retreat is the most immersive option, with tailored therapeutic guidance, integration and luxury retreat support, from €3,582.

Gozo is reached by ferry from the main island, and most UK visitors fly into Malta first, with flights from the UK to Malta from London Heathrow and London Gatwick. Practitioner training at The Aligned Academy

Alongside client work, Karin runs The Aligned Academy, an accredited practitioner programme through the IACT and IMDHA. It has five modules, each a six-day intensive and each priced at €3,288 with payment plans available: Foundations and Metaphysical Skills, Transpersonal Hypnotherapy, Regression Therapy, Integrative Health Hypnotherapy and Hypnotherapy Mastery. In total the training runs to more than 220 hours, and cohorts are capped at twelve so students get close mentoring.

The training can be taken online or on Gozo, and suits healthcare professionals, therapists, coaches and anyone drawn to this work as a career. Karin also gives a free introductory masterclass on the future of therapy.
