Little Angel Photo Studio

Little Angel Photo Studio is a family and children's photographer in Mosta, in the centre of Malta. It is run by Anna, who moved to the islands in 2019 and turned a childhood fascination with her family's camera into her profession. Her sessions are built around relaxed play rather than rigid posing, and the measure of success is a child who leaves smiling and asks when the next session is.

Studio sessions

The family and kids studio package lasts 40 to 45 minutes. It includes one white backdrop and setup, ten edited digital images and time for up to three outfits brought from home. A cake smash session celebrates a first birthday in the studio: it lasts about 40 minutes, offers a choice of setups (usually three), and includes ten edited digital images. You bring the cake, and family portraits against a white backdrop can follow if you wish.

Raw or unedited images are not supplied. The studio does not print prices, so ask about the cost of each package when you enquire.

Outdoor and occasion sessions

Outdoor family and kids sessions last about 45 minutes at one location of your choice. Examples include Mdina, Portomaso, the Chinese Gardens, Valletta, San Anton Gardens, Golden Bay Beach and Birgu. The package includes 15 edited digital images and time for up to three outfits.

Holy communion and confirmation sessions run for 40 to 45 minutes and can take place before or after Mass, with family pictures included. You receive 20 edited digital images, which you choose yourself from the photos taken. Beach shoots last 45 minutes to an hour at a morning or sunset slot, with 20 edited images. Morning light gives brighter blue sea and sky, while sunset brings a darker sea and orange tones. Other themes include princess sessions in the studio or in Mdina, Christmas photoshoots, graduation and a My Puppy and Me session.

Anna and her approach

Anna photographed with her family camera as a child, and since moving to Malta she has focused on children and families because she loves seeing small personalities shine, siblings laughing together and the real connection between people who matter to each other. In her words the best moments happen once nobody is thinking about the camera.

Expect play rather than stiff posing. Children are welcome to show off dance moves or gymnastics, and the aim is a session that boosts everyone's confidence. Anna loves dancing herself and enjoys backpacking trips, particularly around South America, and she can never say no to ice cream. Sessions are a time to play, laugh and explore, and she is happiest when a child gives her a hug at the end because they enjoyed the experience and not just the photographs. Parents appear in the pictures too if you want family portraits.
