The MFA Technical Centre is part of the estate of the Malta Football Association, usually shortened to the Malta FA, which governs the game on the island and has its headquarters at Ta' Qali in Attard, in the middle of Malta. It appears in our directory of sports clubs in Malta.
For a visiting fan, Ta' Qali is where Maltese football happens: the national teams play at the National Stadium, cup finals are staged there, and the association's offices sit inside the stadium's Millennium Stand.
Facilities at Ta' Qali and beyond
The Malta FA lists six facilities: the National Stadium, the Ta' Qali Training Complex, the Centenary Stadium, the Museum of Football, a merchandise shop and the National Football Centre. Together they host international fixtures, domestic finals, training and the history of the Maltese game. If you train while you are here, 24/7 Fitness Club Ta' Qali is only a short walk away.
Ta' Qali lies below the hilltop city of Mdina, so a match can easily be paired with an afternoon in the old capital using our guide to Mdina, and fans who want to stay close by can browse hotels in Mdina and Rabat.
Watching football in Malta
Tickets for the Malta national A team's home matches are sold through the association, with lower prices available through a Family Ticket Bundle and a Supporters Rewards Scheme. Fans who pre-order the new adidas national kit get 75% off tickets for home games. An international friendly against Eswatini is on the calendar ahead of the final UEFA Nations League fixture.
Domestic football is just as lively. The 40th BOV Super Cup at the National Stadium went to Valletta, their 14th win, against old rivals Floriana, while Mgarr United beat Swieqi United after 120 minutes to lift the Assikura Women's Super Cup at the Centenary Stadium. The women's national team recently climbed to 90th in the FIFA world ranking. If you are planning a trip around a fixture, our pages on flights to Malta from the UK and Malta's weather by month will help, and Valletta supporters can explore their home city with our Valletta guide.
