MVP Photo Studio

MVP Photo Studio is the working base of Mario Vassallo, a Maltese photographer whose tagline is capturing moments, one click at a time. The studio is on Triq iz-Zebbug in Ħaż-Żebbuġ, a town in the west of the island, and its range goes well beyond weddings: newborns, maternity, baptisms, first communions, graduations, birthday cake smashes, parties and seasonal sessions are all on the menu.

Mario Vassallo and his background

Mario's interest in photography began young, and he bought his first semi-professional camera in 2015. He then took photography courses and sought out mentoring from more experienced photographers. He began with children's portraits, which taught him to value candid moments, and as his skills grew his clients took him on to events and weddings.

He is a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) and holds a Newborn Safety Guidelines and Assessment Certificate, gained under the guidance of the photographer Kelly Brown. In January 2024 he was named Wedding Photographer of the Year at a major photography conference in London, for his work in 2023. He won a Merit in the 20 by 16 Print Competition at SWPP 2024, and in 2025 his photograph Maltese Festa took Gold in Events and put him among the final nominees for Event Photographer of the Year 2025.

Weddings and family milestones

Wedding coverage is split on the website into pre-wedding, wedding day and post-wedding day, so a couple can book portraits before the ceremony, full coverage on the day and a relaxed session afterwards. The sample pictures include a bride and groom at the altar of an ornate baroque church, which gives a flavour of the Maltese village-church weddings many visitors dream of. Family sessions form the other half of the business. The menu lists newborn sessions, maternity shoots indoors and outdoors, baptism, holy communion, confirmation and graduation pictures, and smash cake sessions for first birthdays. Seasonal mini sessions run for carnival, Christmas, Halloween and Valentine's, and the studio also photographs parties and events. Holidaymakers or families with relatives on the island may find a short mini session a simple way to take home a proper portrait.

Frames, prints and gifts

MVP Photo Studio also finishes what it shoots. Its shop section offers custom-made frames, personalised gifts and frames and more, and the contact form lists passport and image printing and logo design among the services you can ask about. Small gift items are priced on the site, including keychains from €2.00 and mugs at €5.00.
