Vairni Services

Vairni Services Ltd is a contracting company that handles air conditioning, electrical and plumbing work in Malta, and it has been trading since 2008. It works as an HVAC provider, where HVAC means heating, ventilation and air conditioning, with a team that covers design, installation and maintenance. It is listed with the island's air conditioning companies, and because it also does wiring and pipework it appears among the electricians in Malta and the plumbers in Malta.

The company works for both residential and commercial customers. Its client base includes offices, luxury apartment blocks, shops, restaurants and homes, and most new business arrives through referrals.

Design, installation and maintenance

Design comes first. Choosing the right equipment for a building before installation matters because a poorly designed system performs badly and uses more power than it should. Vairni offers HVAC design as a service in its own right, then installs to international standards through its own installers.

For existing buildings, the company provides routine maintenance and service for electrical, air conditioning and plumbing systems, often referred to as MEP, meaning mechanical, electrical and plumbing. It also installs smart wifi control, including central switches that let residents control lights, a television and an air conditioner from a smartphone. Properties in the heart of the capital, covered in our Valletta guide, often have older wiring and cramped plant space, where careful design counts.

Maxa air conditioners and heat pumps

Vairni is the official distributor in Malta of Maxa, a European air conditioner brand sold in more than 34 countries. The residential units carry an A+++ energy class, can heat as well as cool at outdoor temperatures down to minus 15°C, and run quietly at 28 dBA on the lowest speed. Features include a sleep function, a turbo button for quick temperature changes, a follow me function, standard wifi and a silver ion filter.

The wider Maxa range covers commercial DC inverter units that save up to 70 per cent of energy compared with traditional systems, industrial VRF systems, chiller heat pumps from 5 to 1051 kW, rooftop packaged units and reverse-cycle heat pumps that can produce hot water up to 60°C. Technical catalogues are available for each product group, which helps contractors and engineers compare specifications before choosing a unit for a particular building or room. Because Malta's summers are long and hot, our Malta weather guide is a useful reference when choosing a capacity.

Approach and values

The company's mission is to provide quality design, installation and service for HVAC equipment in residential and commercial markets, and it aims to be more than a seller or distributor of products. Its vision is to be recognised as one of the most professional HVAC teams on the island, offering reliable service and installation. Its experience helps it assess each project from different angles, anticipating problems and finding solutions beforehand.

Competitive pricing and quality workmanship are the foundation of its reputation, and turnkey services are available for customers who want one contractor to manage the whole job.
