APS Bank Attard is the bank's branch on Triq Santa Katarina in Attard, with a cashier service, an ATM and a deposit machine. APS is a Maltese community bank founded in 1910 that offers personal and business accounts, loans, cards, investments and pensions. Questions can be sent through the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page.

The Attard branch is one of the neighbourhood outlets of APS Bank, a Maltese bank that has been serving customers since 1910 and describes itself as the community bank in Malta. It stands on Triq Santa Katarina in Attard, a residential town in the middle of the island, and it is one of the branches that keeps a cashier at the counter rather than relying on machines alone.

On VisitMalta.co.uk the branch sits in our directory of banks in Malta. This page explains what you can do there, when it opens, and what the wider APS group offers, so that you can plan a visit before you arrive.

What you will find at the Attard branch

The bank's branch locator shows the Attard branch with three facilities: a cashier service, an ATM and a deposit machine. That combination means you can withdraw or pay in cash, use the machines outside counter hours, and deal with a member of staff for the things a machine cannot do.

Some other APS branches are tellerless and rely on ATMs and deposit machines, so it is worth knowing that this one has a cashier. The Birkirkara branch at APS Centre on Tower Street also has a cashier service, and we cover it on our page for APS Bank Birkirkara on Tower Street.

Opening hours and accessibility

Winter hours run from 1 October to 14 June: Monday to Thursday from 08:30 to 14:00, Friday from 08:30 to 16:00 (with teller service until 14:00) and Saturday from 08:30 to 12:30. In summer, from 15 June to 30 September, branches open Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 14:00 and on Saturday from 08:30 to 12:00. All branches close on public holidays, Easter Monday and 26 December, and on certain Tuesdays set aside for staff training they open at 10:00.

Customers aged 60 and over and holders of the EU Disability Card receive priority between 08:30 and 09:30 from Monday to Friday. There is also an autism-friendly hour from 13:00 to 14:00 on weekdays, when lights are dimmed in reception and meeting rooms, noise is reduced as far as possible and screens show static images instead of video.

Our overview of financial services in Malta shows how a community bank fits into the wider sector.

Regulation and what UK visitors should know

APS Bank plc is regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority as a credit institution under the Banking Act and to carry out investment services under the Investment Services Act. It is also registered as a tied insurance intermediary, and it is a member of the European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks and Financiers. The website is designed for residents of Malta, so a UK visitor should regard it as a guide to services rather than an invitation to bank from abroad.

If you are moving to the island and need a local account, our UK guide to relocating to Malta covers the practical steps. Official statements can be requested for €3, and the contact centre is open every day from 08:00 to 21:00.

Getting there and asking a question

Attard sits close to the old capital, and a visit to the branch combines easily with a day in the old capital, so read our guide to Mdina and our Valletta guide for the sights. If you need somewhere to stay, see our hotels in Mdina and Rabat or our overview of hotels in Malta, and for more ideas browse our list of things to do in Malta.
