Aria Complex is an open-air and indoor event venue that opened in 2012 on the outskirts of Malta's busiest nightlife area, in the quieter surroundings of San Gwann and L-Iklin. It describes itself as cosmopolitan and glamorous, and it is used for company events, private parties, franchised events and public concerts alike.
On VisitMalta.co.uk it is part of our directory of entertainment venues in Malta, where you can compare it with theatres, bars and other places to hold an event.
The venue and its four spaces
The site is made up of four different spaces that work separately or as one large area, set among palms and open to the Mediterranean sun. That flexibility is what makes it appealing: a small private dinner can use one corner while a large concert or club night takes over everything. A shallow pool sits at the heart of the venue, and platforms can be fitted over it to create a second stage or a standing or seating area.
Five full-grown trees stand inside the venue, and there is a fully equipped stage, a backup generator and plenty of parking. It is easy to imagine how a summer afternoon here feels different from a winter night, and the venue is used for both, from daytime pool parties to wintry club nights indoors.
What you can hold here
Corporate clients use Aria Complex for company anniversaries, team events, celebrations of a good year and Christmas dinners. Couples can marry here, with the layout allowing different areas and moods within one setting, which helps when a ceremony, a dinner and a party need different atmospheres. A wedding planner might pair the venue with local florists, such as Alistair Floral Design, and a photography studio such as AldoPics photography studio.
Product launches are another speciality, with the open layout giving room for ambitious set design. The venue has also hosted international club brands on tour, including Space Ibiza and Pacha Ibiza, and is used for seminars, foam parties, pool parties and intimate seated concerts. Sport is on the list as well, from boxing to chess and from swimming to dance championships, with room for big crowds of up to 3,000 people.
Specifications for organisers
Event planners will want the practical details. The complex has eight bars, two separate entrances each with two box offices, and two cloakrooms. Toilet provision includes general facilities for men and women, six unisex VIP restroom cubicles and a cubicle for guests with special needs. Together with a backup generator and the on-site parking, it gives a sound base for ticketed events as well as private hire.

Getting in touch
Aria Complex is on Triq Hal-Gharghur in L-Iklin. Each event is planned individually, so there is no price list to read: describe the occasion, the date you prefer and the number of guests, and the team can advise on the best layout. Use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to Aria Complex.
It helps to think about the shape of the day before you write. A seated dinner with a band suits the stage and the tables around the pool, a pool party uses the water and the surrounding terrace, and a launch can take over several spaces at once. The more detail you give about the number of guests, the type of entertainment and any ticketing, the easier it is for the venue to suggest which of the four spaces fits best.
