Courier Express Malta

Courier Express Malta is a local delivery company that has been on the road since 2011, and it now focuses on helping online shops get orders to customers across Malta and Gozo. From its hub in Qormi it stores stock, packs orders and delivers them, with live tracking and photo proof of delivery. It also handles one-off courier jobs, from urgent documents to a gift sent across town.

The company is listed in our directory of courier companies in Malta. If you are a UK seller planning to serve Maltese customers, or a business moving to the islands, it is a useful name to know.

A decade of local delivery

Courier Express started in 2011 with a small fleet serving both business and consumer customers. In 2018, after strong growth, all operations moved into Courier Express Ltd so the team and technology could scale. Today the company is headquartered in Qormi and is integrated with Shopify. Justin Bartolo is the director.

Malta is small but its streets are tight, and local knowledge matters when a van has to find a doorstep in an old town. Our guides to the capital city of Valletta and to Mdina and its surroundings show how narrow and historic some of the destinations are.

Delivery options

Four delivery speeds are available. Express delivery promises arrival within one hour across Malta, for urgent documents and last-minute gifts. Same-day delivery goes out on the same working day if you book before the cut-off, which depends on the destination. Next-day delivery is the standard choice for documents and parcels, including stock held at the warehouse. Scheduled delivery lets you pick a date and time window.

Deliveries in Malta run from Monday to Saturday, all day until 7pm. Gozo is served on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays under a schedule that began in the week commencing 21 September 2026. Orders received on a Monday may reach Gozo on the Wednesday, so do not assume a Tuesday arrival. Our Gozo guide explains the island if you are sending a gift there.

Every parcel is followed from warehouse scan to doorstep, and the courier takes a photo as proof of delivery, with a signature where needed. That record is useful for sellers who want to settle any dispute about a missing parcel quickly.

Cash on delivery is available, with money collected at the door and settled back to the seller. Bulk booking lets a business upload a spreadsheet of jobs in one go.

Fulfilment and warehousing for online sellers

Connect a Shopify store and orders flow straight to the Qormi warehouse, where the team picks, packs and sends them, usually the next working day. Stock can be stored for a short or long period on flexible terms, with inventory kept in step with your shop. Packaging can be your own or the company's.

Customers receive automatic WhatsApp updates in Maltese or English, and sellers get daily reports on deliveries and failed attempts. Anyone planning to work remotely from Malta or run an online business there may find this a simple way to avoid managing a stockroom, and our overview of Malta's corporate tax structure covers the business setting.

Working with the company

The company asks for a few details when you request a quote: your selling platform, expected weekly volume, the services you need and the areas you deliver to, which can include Malta, Gozo or worldwide. A tailored quote is promised within one working day. Drivers are also being recruited, with car drivers needed at present.
