Crystal Pools

Crystal Pools is a local pool specialist for Maltese homeowners, hotels and property managers who want clear water without heavy chemical use. The company was set up in 2018 and concentrates on water treatment, using modern technology to keep a pool clear, safe and sustainable while cutting the amount of chemicals needed.

If you own a villa or apartment with a pool, or you are thinking of buying one, this is the kind of firm that keeps it in order through the long swimming season. It is listed on VisitMalta.co.uk in our directory of pool services in Malta, alongside other firms for maintenance, building and equipment.

Scheduled pool maintenance

For owners without the time or energy to look after a pool themselves, Crystal Pools offers a professional maintenance service intended to keep the water clean and the equipment running smoothly. This suits second-home owners based in the UK, who may be away for weeks at a time and want to return to a pool that is ready to use.

Malta's warm, dry climate means pools can be used for much of the year, which is why regular care matters. Our Malta weather guide shows how temperatures change by month, and it helps explain why summer is the busiest time for pool owners and why early-season checks are sensible.

Products, equipment and online shop

The company's website includes an online shop split into treatment products, cleaning equipment, water testing products, accessories, finishes, pre-fabricated pools, spa products and hot tubs. Treatment lines include pH adjusters, chlorine, algae control, salt and flocculants. Examples of printed prices include €31.20 for 6kg of pH plus granules and €55.00 for 25kg of pH minus. A PoolLab photometer for testing water costs €271.40. Prices are those shown in the shop and can change, and some items are marked as on order.

Larger items include Zodiac cleaning equipment, pumps, inverter heat pumps, salt chlorinators, LED pool lights and steam equipment. Pre-fabricated pools in EPS and metal, as well as wellness spas, are also on offer. Buyers of a holiday home with a pool can read our guide on where to stay in Malta to compare the island's areas.

Accessories such as floating thermometers, telescopic poles, vacuum heads, filter media and salt are stocked too, so most routine pool jobs can be handled with one supplier. Customers can also book an appointment through the website if they would rather talk through a problem than order online.

Brands and technology

Crystal Pools is a local supplier for three well-known names. Bayrol makes water treatment products designed to be easy to use, including a range for hot tubs and spa jacuzzis. Dryden Aqua uses activated filter media that improves the performance of sand filters without extra infrastructure and does not need recharging or replacing. Fluidra is a global pool and wellness group, founded in 1969.

The full list of services covers scheduled maintenance, treatment products, cleaning products and accessories, lighting, water heating, automatic dosing systems, pumps and filtration, wellness spa equipment and above-ground pools. Hotels with pools and spas also need this type of support; browse hotels across Malta to see how widespread pools are in the accommodation sector.
