Paradise Pools

Paradise Pools is a pool specialist that has been working in Malta for more than 40 years, building and renovating swimming pools for both homes and businesses. It is based on Mdina Road in Żebbuġ, a short drive from Mdina and the centre of the island, and combines a contracting arm with a showroom for pool equipment, tiles and chemicals. You can find it in our directories of pool services in Malta and swimming pools in Malta. For UK buyers of Maltese property, a pool is often high on the wish list, so it helps to know who builds them.

Pool construction

New pools start with a consultation and an on-site visit, so the team can understand your plans and assess the space. From there the company provides a detailed quote and a personalised design, then manages the project from design through to execution, using materials chosen for durability and appearance. The finished job includes design, construction and the finishing touches.

Every pool is designed to the client's specification rather than fitted from a stock template, which suits Malta's varied plots, from terraced house roofs and small courtyards to villa gardens. The photographs on the site show infinity-edge pools with a view over the hills, rooftop pools next to a church, mosaic-lined steps and waterfalls, and a pool with fibre-optic starlight lighting.

Renovation, jets and spas

Existing pools can be refreshed. Renovation plans are tailored to each pool and can update the style, improve how the pool works, add the newest safety features or install energy-saving equipment. This is useful if you buy a property with a tired pool and want to modernise it. The team of specialists tailors the plan to your pool and your priorities, whether that is a new look, easier upkeep or lower running costs.

A counter current jet system is designed for people who want to swim in a smaller pool. It creates an adjustable water flow, so you can swim on the spot for exercise, and it can be added to an existing pool. Paradise Pools also installs spa systems for homes, hotels and commercial buildings, with advanced controls for comfort and ease of use.

Products and equipment

The showroom stocks a wide range of products from international brands. These include glass mosaic tiles, pumps and filters, chemicals and testers such as chlorine granules, bromine tablets, algaecides and pH regulators, and inverter heat pumps that can be controlled over WiFi to extend the swimming season.

For sanitising, the range runs from salt chlorinators to chemical-free systems from Quest and Naked. Automatic and robotic cleaners cope with different pool shapes and sizes, and inverter pumps reduce energy use. Fittings, glues and cleaning equipment complete the range. Product photos on the site show several robotic cleaners on the showroom floor.

Homes and commercial projects

The portfolio covers residential pools and commercial work for hotels, spas and holiday rentals. Our guide to hotels in Malta shows the kind of properties where pools matter, and the weather guide by month explains why a pool can be used for much of the year, especially with a heat pump.

If you are relocating, our Malta relocation guide covers the move, and our guide to Mdina describes the historic area close to the showroom. Nearby, you can also find 24/7 Fitness Club Zebbug in our directory, and when you want the sea instead of a pool, see the best beaches in Malta. For background on the islands, read about Malta.
