Esprit Yachting is Malta's official Azimut Yachts dealership and authorised service centre, with its main office in Qormi and a base at Marina di Valletta in Pietà. It sells new yachts, handles brokerage, charter, management, servicing and Maltese flag registration support, and belongs to a group that includes Strand Marine and AB Finance. Enquiries go through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page.
Esprit Yachting is the Maltese home of Azimut Yachts. It is the official dealership and authorised service centre for the Italian brand, and it also looks after Williams jet tenders, the small fast boats that superyachts carry as runabouts. Operating since 2007, it covers the whole life of a yacht: commissioning and delivery, cleaning and care, technical servicing, charter management and winter programmes. The head office is in Qormi, and a second base sits at Marina di Valletta in Pietà, just across the water from the capital.
For UK readers the appeal is simple. You can buy a new Azimut, charter one for a week, berth it in a marina beneath the Valletta bastions and have it maintained locally while you are home. VisitMalta.co.uk lists the business among the yacht brokers in Malta and the boat charter companies in Malta, and this page explains each part of what it offers.
Azimut yachts for sale
Esprit Yachting represents the full Azimut range: the Atlantis, Magellano, Flybridge, S, Seadeck and Grande collections. The home page highlights a changing lineup that includes the Grande 44M flagship, the Magellano 27M and 30 Metri, the Fly 70, 82 and 62, the S7, the Seadeck 7 and 9 and the Verve 42 outboard weekender. Several of these made their world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2026, and the Fly 62 had its Malta premiere at the Malta Boat Show in 2025. Some boats carry a note that they can be viewed at the Monaco or Genoa shows in 2026, and the Grande 30 Metri is expected in Malta in the summer of 2027.
The Seadeck series is worth a note for families: it is Azimut's first hybrid line of motor yachts, built with recycled materials and a design aimed at cutting emissions by up to 40 per cent, with a cockpit called the Fun Island that opens towards the water. The Fly 62 introduces a beach cockpit with a large sunbathing area open to the sea. Which yachts are physically in Malta changes through the year, so ask the sales team what can be viewed now.
The dealership has also been recognised by the brand. At the Azimut dealers meeting in 2026 it received the Best Marketing Initiative Award for its Azimut Island event concept, and in 2025 it won the Best Brand Identity Application Award for a twentieth anniversary owners' voyage from Malta to Capri.
Charter with the Azimut Charter Club
If you would rather charter than buy, the Azimut Charter Club offers motor yachts for a day, a weekend or longer, with a tailor-made programme for each booking. There are seven contemporary yachts to choose from, starting at 34 feet, and the fleet pictured on the site includes the Fly 82, Atlantis 43, Grande 32M and Atlantis 51. Every yacht is skippered by a qualified crew and professionally maintained, and each charter includes 30 nautical miles of fuel plus a skipper and, or, a deckhand.
This is a luxury, crewed experience rather than a bareboat hire, which suits visitors who want to relax, explore the coast and leave the navigation, fuel and maintenance to professionals. Because each programme is built around the guests, the best approach is to say how many people are travelling, how long you want and where you would like to go. For a different style of day out, our directory also shows Adventure Cruises Malta, and our Blue Lagoon guide and Gozo guide show where many charter guests like to go.
Marina di Valletta and berthing
Esprit Yachting led the development of Marina di Valletta, which began operating at the start of the 2017 season and has been part of the D-Marin network since 2023. It lies below the restored fortifications of the capital, within walking distance of the City Gate, and only a short drive from Malta International Airport, which is helpful if you are arriving on one of the flights from the UK to Malta. The marina has more than 250 berths, a mix of 10, 12, 13.5, 15, 17, 21, 24 and 28 metre berths, and alongside transit berthing for superyachts up to 45 metres and 500 gross tons.
Facilities include 24-hour personnel and security, teak-decked floating pontoons with digital water and electricity, a fuel bunker service, concierge, yacht cleaning and guardiennage, showers and Wi-Fi, and a private car park of 2,500 square metres for more than 90 vehicles. The clubhouse houses the marina reception and SA/MI/ZU, a waterside bistro at the foot of the fortifications. From here the coves and clear bays are around 15 nautical miles away, and on land you can walk into the capital using our Valletta guide and the views from the Upper Barrakka Gardens.
Service, management and the Williams centre
The service side is a large part of the business. Esprit Yachting provides commissioning, delivery, mechanical and electrical work, yacht care and cleaning, guardiennage, after sales support and winter servicing programmes approved by the manufacturers. It also manages charter operations for owners and supports Maltese flag yacht ownership structures.
The Williams Service Centre operates from a purpose-built facility in Qormi. Qualified Williams engineers service all Williams Jet Tender models, test each tender on the water after the work, and agree any extra repairs with the client before starting, so there are no surprises on the bill. The team is trained to diagnose and recommend repairs across the whole Williams range, which suits owners who rely on a tender to get guests ashore every day of the season. Services include tube repairs, fibreglass chip restoration, upholstery repairs and optional cleaning and detailing, and collection and redelivery to your yacht can be arranged. Owners who plan to keep a boat in Malta for the sailing season may find our Malta weather guide useful when planning maintenance windows.
The wider group: finance, brokerage, events and Strand Marine
Esprit Yachting sits within a family of companies. AB Finance, set up in 2019 as part of the Azimut and Benetti group, helps buyers purchase on credit, with standard terms of up to 55 per cent of the yacht value over five to seven years, and also supports yacht management from crew recruitment to maintenance. Valletta Superyachts is a boutique agency for captains and owners, handling customs clearance, EU temporary importation, Malta VAT deferral, Maltese flag registration, provisioning, bunkers and technical support.
Mediterranean Yacht Sales, set up in the early 1990s to represent Beneteau and now based at Ta' Xbiex, deals in new and used sailing and motor yachts and represents brands including Beneteau, Lagoon catamarans, North Sails and B&G electronics. Yachting Events organises sailing and yachting events, including the RC44 Valletta Cup. Strand Marine, the sister company founded in 1990, began by importing Larson boats and now distributes Suzuki outboards, Nuova Jolly RIBs, Varta batteries and Mannol lubricants from a 600 square metre complex, with a Suzuki certified service centre and a dealership for De Antonio Yachts.
If you are buying a yacht abroad, you may also want cover; our directory lists AIB Insurance Brokers Limited close to the Qormi office.
The team and how to start
The business was founded by Niki Travers Tauss, the managing director, who has a background in marketing and new media, and whose family already had an interest in boating, which led to the founding of the company. Niki is a consultant to Azimut Yachts on product development, a board member of the yachting services section of the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and led the Marina di Valletta project. Anthony S. Diacono is chairman, Matthew Travers Tauss handles finance and administration across Esprit Yachting and Strand Marine, and Adrian Mingo is operations manager and broker with 16 years in the marine industry. Charlotte Baker leads marketing, and Jessica Libreri manages group HR and the office.
